I have a 2003 RX-1 with a dalton clutch kit and a 1.25 ripsaw and everything is pretty much stock! Any suggestions would be greatful as I am new to tinkering! :exc:

I never had good luck getting any top end with those components when i tested them.I got great 0-90 mph acelleration but top end was not there.
You will get your best top speed with stock clutching stuff.

Turk....can you alaberate a little more...im all stock in my clutching and my rpm's are not where they are supposed to be....I can get to 9500 and slowly 10,000....gave the 2ndary more twist (70deg)....may drill the tip rivets....any idea how to get me up a little more....

You want to see close to 10.200 for best top end. drilling out tip rivet will gain rpm,s but slip the belt up top & give you less top end. use a grinder & grind off 1-2 grams from each rivet. Your gonna need a gram scale. If you need more rpm,s then just grind off some weight off the tip.

TUrk....
Do you think its just easier to dill the rivet right out and if im not happy then just put new ones back in...? Right now when I punch it off the line I get 9000...in powder its arond 8500....it slowly pulls to 10,000....I hear most members say that the sweet spot is 10,500-10,800 WOT and then settles back down to 10,200.....I more than anything want to hit 10,500 when I punch it....I feel like im missing soo much more power out of the hole....any more idea's....? I thought I read somewhere something about using washers to shim out the helix or something of that nature..?

For best acceration possible you want to hit 9800 rpm holeshot & climb to 10,200 rpm on a stock sled. Revving at 10,500 initially means your spinning &/or slipping the belt.
You can try my way & your friends way & race a similar sled. I guarentee My way is a bus length faster.

Turk....
I will try to shave the rivets some and the tips a little....can you tell me what kind of weight im looking for the rivet and tips..? What should I try to shave it down with....just a little bench wheel grinder...? I also have a Gram scale ...

Those that have an 03 RX-1 differ from the newer RX-1s. When the 04 RX-1 came out, it had larger rollers in the primary to make up for the more drag the ripsaw had (compared to the 03 stock finger track). RPMs should be down adding a ripsaw to an 03 RX-1.
As turk says, grinding the weights may be the ticket since it’s the cheapest to do.
1 gram of tip weight often equals approx 200 rpm
