It was a sad evening....a guy came to look at my 2000 SRX and he bought it. I can't say enough good about that sled...clutch kit, RX-1 suspension, 1.25 predator, Ohlin shock extenders, F7 killer, stupid fast, the list goes on and on. I would always get a smile on my face when hammering the throttle. The guy took one test ride and he was sold.
I had two SRX's in my fleet, the other being an MSRX. Awesome sleds. Now I am hauling to two four strokes (other than the kids sleds).
I don't care what anyone says, pound for pound the SRX to me has to be one of the greatest sleds ever. Awesome on gas and oil, faster than many sleds out there and with an updated suspension it took bumps very well. Of course extremely reliable.
I need another box of kleenex.

Take the money and put it towards a turbo for your Nytro and you will be back to smoking F7's

I still love my SRX. This season I have been swapping between my XTX and 2001 Srx 136 with long travel front and rear travel. The Srx feels faster and feels 50lbs lighter than the XTX. In reality, in a drag they are pretty much dead on. It will be hard for me to ever part with this sled. Especially consisdering it has been an on going project for years.

- 2016 RS Vector XTX 1.25 Lug wifes..2013 RS Vector LTX.. 2003 600 VMax Past Machines 3-2007 Attaks 1-2010 Vector LTX.. sorry no Stinkdoos or poo's cats.
We had 2 Vmax 600's and have only one now for the wife. It's been a good sled and would last I'm sure for years the way she runs it. But I wan't to get up into a 4 stroke for her. I will use it to when the son's come and ride my Apex.
It does move out and has been trouble free for 8000 miles.

I feel your pain RX1MPete. It's always tough to say goodbye to an old friend who's treated you well. Do you still have the MSRX, or are you entirely "smokeless" now?
After I got rid of my '00 SRX and switched to the 4-strokes a few years ago, I was still pining for the feel and sound of the SRX. I was lucky enough to find a '02 SRX that was still in the crate. I picked that one up as a spare sled, and ever since have been chipping away at it to bring it up to speed.
I've currently been running a Mono skid with a Ohlins EC shock in the sled that's been extended to a 146". It's got electric start/reverse, and a wide front end with Fox Floats. Put a taller seat and risers on it and some other things, and now it keeps right up with the 4-strokes in all conditions.

VX1R, I sold the MSRX to upgrade to the RX1M back in 2005. It had the 136 with a 1.5 and a Bender Fresh Air kit. That sled was extremely fast out of the hole and destroyed every sled out there at the drag races when it was new. I miss that sled alot too. Your SRX however is absolutely unbelievable!! WOW!!!
They say it is better to talk about your loss while you grieve....more kleenex please.

This thread just confirmed that I should NEVER sell my 01. I love it and even though it has yet to be riden this season...Maybe it's time to pull her out. They flat out haul azz and nothing is better on a flat hard pack groomed trail. They are on rails!
VX1R...VERY NICE SRX!
That gives me some inspiration just looking at yours...

Wow, that is a very nice SRX and it looks as if it could be a sleeper sled too.
