I really loved my procross. It took every bump, Cornered like a dream, and the biggest thing for a heavy sled it felt super lite. I really noticed how lite it was after riding an Apex back to Back with my procross. When I got back on my sled I couldn't believe how light it felt. I remember I road it like a mad man. We were in Munising for a TY ride and the trail that takes you to the hotel was beat and I blew through the bumps like a mad man.

I'm sure the Viper is no different.

I want all of you to know If SJ and my Procross's were reliable we would still own them. We are not flamers or trolls. We are die hard yamaha guys that want Yamaha to do well. We hope the Viper is as good as the Engineers said it was at the novi snow show.

Also we do love our doo's they are flat out amazing. I don't think there is anything wrong with saying so.

Glad you understand so dont try to sell me or any of us Viper guys a Doo. I dont want one or I would have one. Its that simple. Just help or shut up.

Next year yamaha and skidoo are making a Yamadoo. You can hump that form.until then go hump doo talk.

Hump, now that's funny. :o| autocorrect. Visit...I ment visit.

J - I rode with you a couple years ago and saw the chassis was working well. I did not know the other problems your were having with the Procross chassis. Sorry to hear that....

I have rode some procross sleds and the 2 stroke was fun, but just not to my liking. Weird as it may seem, but the Yami motor in this chassis works and hope everyone gets to ride one, own one or test one out.....something nicely setup with someone that weighs about the same. But again, everyone has their own opinions and I respect that.

J - we had some issues in the past and I was shocked 2 years ago when you came up to me and wanted to ride. It made me think that life is way too short and glad we were able to spend some ride time together. Ride safe bud!

I don't get why their is so much hate from doo to yami and vs!??

My first sled was a mxz580! thats what got me hooked on snowmobiling. of course the old sleds had no suspension so when I rode a rx-1 for the first time their was no looking back. Around that time everyone kept saying 4 strokes have no power down low or mid!? had no idea what they were talking about!

One of my best friends still rides doo and just got a new 600 forget the exact model this year. Its a good sled and since my viper is a 600 class sled we raced on a long lake and we were dead even! We have ridden over 1k miles on the last two weeks together and both our sleds are performing as they should.

Right on apexgt40 - I have owned every brand of sled, rode and swapped paint with my friends. The 4 strokes are where I want to be now (still have 2 strokes for racing, but once I get this Viper dialed in, it's going to be race sled and trail sled)

Shouldn't matter what anyone owns or rides, we all share the one sport we love and that's snowmobiling. I used to bad mouth other brands, used to watch peoples reactions when you walk in a restaurant or hotel with a certain name brand on the riding gear and can tell you a few stories. Life is too short to worry about what other people ride and I don't care what they say about my girlie flame sled. I ride what I ride and will change what I want to make it my sled :)

My first was a 98 700 xcr, then dad bought a 98 F3 600 that spanked my #*$&@. I loved that thing so much I bought it from him, my brother in law owns it now. Most trouble free sled I have ever seen. After that it was a 03 600HO REV, that was the biggest lemon personally I have ever owned. 3 new top ends in 2800 miles, terrible. After that was my 06 Fusion 700, 4000 miles on it and it been a damn good sled. It is still in the garage for the wife. When I upgraded from the fusion I bought my first Yamaha, my 09 Nytro RTX. It is a damn good ditch Sled but boy what a handful in the twisties. Love the engine! That's why I am now onto the Viper, I have high hopes. No brand loyalty or animosity to other brands here. I do get some crap about being the only Yamaha in our group but it's all good between friends.

Seems you have a problem telling the truth.......

jtssrx you along with your buddy SJ are both on ignore from me as I like to have an intelligent conversation. :-o

I was on a polaris idy 650 when I first saw the vmax 4...it was love at first sight....it to me was the ferrari of the snow...nothing compared period...and over the years although I have strayed to poo on this...then cat on that....but then in 97' ...the sx..man I loved that sled...numerous versions...including big bores etc...srx's..my heart has always been with yamaha...when they produced the same sled for years rx1/apex and then the nytro experiments (regular and turbo) i jumped to a cat turbo..

I know when yamaha puts their efforts in they come with the best...best motor...best dependability...

Ive made lifelong freindships from my time with yamaha and ty..

I liked the procross chassis...just hated the periphials....driveline....reverse etc...that said...Im happy for those who love their viper...and for those who dont...well sorry..

I may be on the best riding and handling sled Ive ever owned...but it isnt a yamaha...doesnt have the yamaha sweet and dependable mill.....I hope they keep moving forward....nothing would make me happier to be back in the blue camp..

prediction time..I predict a direct injected two stroke on the evolving procross...yes many have to me Im crazy...but its what I see from yam...maybe a 650 and an 850 and this would have my attention for sure...

I think I understand when a guy doesnt own the exact machine and comes across negative...its like someone talks about one of our kids...we can say it but they better not!

I would be happy to share with others (some have p.m.'d me) on little tweaks (ive had the entire driveline apart on the procross) for the chassis....after all, were all yamaha lovers here!

This post was specifically about the Viper and why I think Viper owners are loving their sleds. It has nothing to do with how I feel about my doo. that comment that you posted was specifically how I felt about my Doo verse the Cat. I like how you are trying to twist what I posted. As I've said several times I don't own a viper and have also pointed out I've not said one bad thing about the Viper. You seem to have some ax to grind.

Yes I still have you on ignore but this was too funny to pass by. You mean DI engine like the Cat 600 DI that is being sold and ridden as we speak? Or the big brother to the 600 that is being ridden by Cat test riders as we speak? And you may be surprised to know that the original two stroke DI engineers are YAMAHA (see Evinrude DI and where it came from). And the partnership between Cat and Yamaha has Yamaha designing Cats new engines with them. What did you think was going to happen when Suzuki left Cat?

Some have even rumored the 120hp DI 600 Cat engine in the new Yamaha Phazer. Hope not though I would rather see 4 stroke in it.

As you have stated the 2012 Procross chassis is the same as the 2014 what tweaks would you have of value? I am not bashing you to start a spat I just don't want some of our newer members thinking a Viper has the same rails, track, spindle, or front end spacing as the 2012 procross because they do not. Easy to see check part numbers if you doubt. 2014 does not need the reloction of skid or other tweaks, check aftermarket vendors for the lack of "fixes" as the 2014 does not need them. Plenty of fixes out there for 2012 and 2013 though, mostly relocation brackets and front end parts.

IM not looking to spar with you ....

no..the 600 di is a suzuki motor...suzuki still supplies parts to cat now for what was prior built cat motors..its pressumed that yam will build motors for cat...who knows to what amount..
yamaha is a premiere motor builder...

yes there have been many tweaks and changes...and yes there are different part numbers for the same exact parts...its still alot of what was in 2012...I spent over 45 minutes discussing the chassis and periphials with a yam engineer...we discussed the issues in depth..you dont want me to post alot of what he said..but in the end...there were 126 changes or improvements...some as small as showing cat assembly workers how to properly use a torque wrench!

Im saying it will be all new and the way a di motor was supposed to be..expect a new motor or variant each of the next five years!
