I agree, and spray on products might get cooked by the heat of the exhaust and probably become ineffective.

That may be true but your exhaust was in the front and deflected to the snow in front and side of the track. Here it is in the back where snow hit it and melts big difference. I rode fan cooled lots also and I never seen that kind of ice build up running in dry snow come on.
Every sled I've owned has had ice build up in the tunnel. The solution is simple - I carry a small hard rubber hammer and when I take a break, tap the hammer on the sides of the tunnel (if your sled is a long track, tap the "cookie sheet," too) and the ice chucks fall right off.
As somebody else mentioned, be sure to back up a few feet to clear the track and tunnel of any ice chunks. If you forget, you might be buying a new front heat exchanger.

Must be different snow that what I rode on. There was snow dust and a little bit of ice on my 74 merc sno twister and my olympic. A free air and the other fan cooled. I rode these sleds all day and ice never built up like what is on those new phazers.
