I know this has been covered - BUT - can anyone advise a specific brand for a skid mounted ice scratcher that will fit a nytro with a 121 track.
-Does the outer idler wheel interfere with mounting or can it still be mounted near the front of the skid? I have seen some guys place them, what I consider pretty far back on the skid and question how effective they would be that far back.
-Who sells them in Ontario?
-Are there certain sizes, which size would i need? I notice scratchers say " not intended for short track sleds". So what am I looking for.
Thanks guys

you can buy them from your local dealer....
I went with the ones that mount under the tunnel/foot rests from kimpex....

Tyloor,
How do the ones work that mount under the tunnel.
Do they spray sufficient snow?
Do they creat a ton of vibration on the tunnel and running boards when they are used?
I do like how you can mount them quite a ways forward to spray max snow into the skid.
I have concerns with the rail mounted ones because that outer idler wheel will likely be in the way.
Would appreciate hearing your opinion.

I suggest a set of slide kicks. They are awesome. I have a set on my XTX. They are great because you can leave them down all the time. They flip around when in reverse and dont mess anything up. Well worth the $100 bucks that forsure.
I would buy ones that mount to the ski..Hartman sells them...they give much better coverage towards the front of the skid.

Hey Shadow,
The ski ones look interesting but with split rails, i dont have that main bolt that goes through the bottom of the spindle into the ski. That may be a problem. Back to considering skid mount or running board...

If you get the running board type, order them through royaldistributing.com I have the running board type on both of my sleds and they work great. The last few years I rode on glare ice with the 2.25" paddle tracks and no over heating and no slider wear. The skids were caked with snow from the scratchers and that is driving for 20 miles. I am satisfied with them.
Just make sure you install them as far up closest to the front of the sled as you can on the running board. Also, I didn't use the spring holder that was supplied. I used a stainless steel eye bolt, cut out the eyelet enough so the spring can go in and out easily to deploy. Royal sells replacement springs also.

I have the slidekicks, but the problem I have is that I can't keep the bolt tight. This has been a problem because the company has since changed the design. I am currently testing a new product by the same company that it think is called "Ski Z's". It mounts behind your carbides and deflects snow to the center of the track. On my first ride, I could see the snow from both skis hitting the center of the track. So far so good. I will report more as I get more miles on.

The slidekicks or the duraflex as they are called now work awesome. I have been running them on my sleds for years. If they are coming loose check to make sure the mounting bolt that attaches them to the rail is not bottoming out in the scracther and keeping it from clamping the rail.

Sorry Sevey, I forgot you have Split Rails....in that case I would think the cable ones that mount to the sway bar would work the same as they would provide spray closer to the front of the skid
