Went riding this weekend and started melting the hyfax a little and the machines were hot enough that the temp light came on, Will these ice scratchers work good for curing this problem, I did wish that yamaha put the heat exchangers in the tunnel, but it is understandable for clearance, who makes a good kit ex moutain perf, slp? does the transfer enhancement kit work on the rx1 as well or should I just leave it alone thanks for the advice! :D

1. MPI scratchers work ok (I have broken a few sets) - supposedly the Holz ones are better built. Another option are the ski-mounted scratchers that Hartman sells.

2. Since you have a couple of 04 mountains - have your dealer order you the rear heat exchanger kit. This kit is standard on the 05s. Should cost you around $85.

3. My transfer kit should be arriving at my house today. It seems like every guy I've talked to thinks this kit is the way to go on a MtnRX.

thanks tmk 50 let me know how your mpi transfer kit works, if you ever get to ride in utah let me know i will let you take a spin on the 05 rx1 mtn see ya 8)

tmk you are from Denver eh? you should come down to South Fork. 50 miles from Alamosa. Good stuff down here. Maybe next season

I had the same problem when running trails with my mountian max 700
Hifax got hot real fast. Got a set of holtz ice scrathers,Problem solved!
They work great. Just dont back up with them down if you have reverse.
I learned the hard way

Sounds good! I've only been to Utah in the summer (Lake Powell)

I haven't been down there for the last 3 years - it sounds like you guys have the best snow in the state right now! I'm jealous - I need to start planning next year's trips!

rx1forever.......Have you installed the rear heat exchanger from Yamaha? Do a search and you'll see what I'm talking about. Anyway, the rear heat exchanger helps keep the heat down. Shame on Yamaha for not including it as standard equipment for ALL their sleds. Ya spend $10K in a sled that over heats that can be cured with an $85.00 heat exchanger.  :? :? :( :( :x :x

Ya we got some good snow. Wolf creek got about 6000 skiers sunday.

it was REAL deep this season. My RX1 isnt too interested in powder thats 5 foot deep before you get to the packed stuff.
i read about all you trail riders, im on the trail until i get to the powder, then the trail is just to get home.

Maybe next season you can make a trip down here for a weekend. We can go up to the highest snowmobiling point within 50 miles. 12,700ft
