BRP Ice Scratchers

The bent version has a slot.

So I haven't had mine down yet. Does anybody have a picture of the tips with good wear?

Has anyone tried these BRP tips on the rail mounted Yamaha ice scratchers?

Those are the old style uni-directional ones, BRP switch to the kind with two wound coils so they can run in either direction, no need to lift up to reverse.

Yes, I just have a new set left.

I think the easiest way to modify them would be to grind a "slot" in the rod so the set screw would hold the tips in place without ultimately getting loose and falling off.
OR drilling and tapping a hole on the other side of the wear puck that goes on the end of the wire?

This is what I mean when I say mine gets used on a 45 degree angle. Swap left to right will get more life out of mine.

My buddies have been running these tunnel BRP Ice Scratchers on their Poo and Doo's last year with great results and doesn't beat up the paint on the skid like the wire ice scratches seem to do.....at least for me. I thought if these work for Poo and Doo, they must work on Cat and Yamaha.

Very easy install. BRP part #860201516

Only addition to what came in the kit was to purchase two shorter bolts from which came in the brp ice scratcher kit. The bolt that I used to mount the ice scratchers was: M10X1.25X90. This bolt essentially replaces the stock hex bolt that is in the hanger now for the upper idler wheel. I then had to drill one hole for the spring to feed into at 2 o'clock. Then you need to Drill two holes in the inner side of the bumper under the tunnel and use two rivets that came with the kit to hang the ice scratchers when not in use. Very easy install and has great down pressure and won't scratch my rails!

Do you have more pictures of these installed? And I know it's been a few years. How did they hold up?

I'm sure you know this but the further forward scratchers are mounted, the better they work. Scratching up snow behind the sled doesn't do any good.
Have you considered Duraflex? No problem with backing up with them down, carbide tips for long life, not in way adjusting track, etc.
