Hey guys
Heading to town this morning to pick up new slides for our sleds just want to hear your opinion on DuPont slider vs graphite vs regular ones! We have just over 2000kms on our sleds and noticed the back of the sliders are wore right down. I was going to be a cheapskate and just flip them end for end but decided to just get new ones

I have over 4000 miles on my originial slides not going to replace until next year. I do have a new pair of the Duponts waiting to put on but this I would just replace with the cheap ones if I did not already buy them.

Yes they last forever (4k and counting) their also wider and help with the track rubbing on the inside of the tunnel.

Definitely worth the $$, here's another idea, I know it doesn't look kool but your new slides with last a lot longer. I've added 4 extra wheels to the rear of my skid, hint , get Arctic cat wheel kit, its $58 for a set, not $72 per side from Yamaha. At 1500 miles most of my hyfax looked new except for one spot right near the end of the skid under the little rubber bump stop was at 50%, put the extra wheels on and haven't noticed any wear since.

I went to get the du ponta and my dealer said they are not recommended unless track is fully clipped and my powerclaw is not.

My track is not fully clipped and have no problems with over 4k miles. Never heard of it being a problem.

This subject it always interesting to me..... I am sure they are quality slides but I have never had the need for them as I steadily get 4-5000 miles and more out of a standard of hyfax with no problem. I think it comes down to many factors ...track tension, conditions, how fast you drive them in poor conditions and so on...?

If you ride tons of ice or plowes roads then the duponts are a must.
I am finding that my apex was way tougher on slides than my viper.

Even if you do not get more miles out of them I noticed it is a lot easier to turn the track by hand so the resistance is a lot less.
