I have a 05 RS Venture, but i want something a little better for solo riding. I was looking at the Apex Rtx at the dealer and was thinking about buying it.

I was wondering if there were any issues, things people are not happy with on their sled. Just want do a little research before i go and spend a lot of money on another new sled.

Any info will be appreciated, Thanks

I would get the attak. It hooks better, tracks straiter, gets there quicker and rides better than short track. It won't give up any speed to the short sled either. I've already seen trades for the long track after crashing their short track sled. However, theres not a thing wrong with the RTX, it does come with the nice floats. If you ride them before you purchase you'll get a better idea. I don't see any drawbacks to the long track sleds anymore.

test driving

There is no snow here, I am waiting for it to snow and drive a few but before than i fiqure do a little research.

I have an RTX......love it.......and everyone else does too.

I feel really bad for my buds that drive other makes! Once they ride my sled....they hate theirs! Rev's included.

RTX and GT are both AWSOME sleds.. ATTACK IS TOO!!

YOu cant go wrong no matter what you choose..

WAY better than what your riding now..

You will need a taller windshield on the RTX and GT though..

I am curious as the front shocks in the ride dpt. I would like to see a comparison on the same machine with a swap of the 3 shocks avaliable. I know some have changed to one or the other, but no one has tried them all. I would think the floats would ride good. However, they need to be revalved to change the dampening. Ultimate would be the gt shock with the adj. dampening and the air spring combined! The attak needs more wind protection also. Mike Knapp#17

Nothing wrong here either. Best sled i have ever owned so far. Personally i wouldn't go with the attak unless you are planning off trail. For me (trail rider in WI), a shorty works better (for me)

RTX is great, Great gas milage ( 2x's better then my Viper) Smooth through all trails ( as long as you play with suspension 1st), Great Power!!! No problems here, ( wheels falling apart NO, hand warmers, hot, ) over 600 miles and running strong

apex

Sounds like a good machine. To be honest I am a little nervous about buying another Yamaha after all the trouble with my RS venture. But so far it seems that this is a lot better (Apex) than the Venture.

Thank you for the info and if anyone has something to add please post or PM me

If the floats are stiff Im curious as to just how soft the others are. Personally I find the Floats to be rather plush. In fact after riding it Im glad I didnt get a GT or ER. My buddys got an 06 REVX, after riding both I think MY RTX is softer in front when set to the 70psi theyre delivered at

I've only got 250 mls on my RTX but think the shocks are awsome some big hits at all speeds and haven't bottomed them yet, only have them set at 60# to keep center of gravity down less than 17" at the bumper 1 hole up on limiter and 2nd clip on rear shock and the sled is pretty decent. the fox are the best I've ever owned so far we'll see how they last. One last thing that I havent seen anybody say These 150 hp sleds can be a hand full they are strong in the power dept. and get excellent traction I'm sure some people will wish they had waited to see if thre's aproduct line change in07 and bought the 120 hp model.

I'll second that, love my RTX. May have considered an attak if they offered any shock upgrades from the factory. Floats seem to be nice, Gt shocks are probably sweet too.

Love the RTX. The only issue I have with mine is that I have about a
3 inch allowance where it has to be parked on my 10 foot enclosed drive on drive off trailer. If I pull to far forward I cannot open the trailer from the front. If you get the longer track I would definently get the 12 foot trailer. Obviously this is not an issue with the sled as more of an issue with me triing to save $1,200.00 or so on the extra two feet. :o|

About 500 miles so far and no issues with the idlers, the grip warmers are so so but I usually don't use them much anyway. Awsome sled I can see how the longer track may be helpful with the hook up, tons of power. Mono shock is amazing, seems to react very well to small changes. Fox Floats are great very smooth ride.
