I have an RTX. So some of these directions should apply.
Lift the sled in the air.
Take the 14mm bolt out of the rear of the control rod. ( I had to use a impact....there was no way the nut was coming loose)
Undo the nuts on each end if the shock.
Disconnect the electric plug to your shock.
Pull the front shock bolt out first....then the rear.
I used a jack under the back corner of the rear suspension just to make some room for play.
For the RTX shock.....the spring has bigger coils, but is shorter. I moved the c-clip from position1 to position 2.
I have not rode it since.
Take the spring to an auto mechanic shop. They have those nice wall spring compressors.

I suggest having whoever puts the spring on for you adjust the preload to highest setting. You can tune the preload down on the trail!!! very hard to go back up without taking shock off.
i am true big boy 325ilbs. i have mine set at 6th position on preload and 2nd circlip position. works perfect for me. my sled is an attak but your spring is very similiar .....

As far as how tight to tighten the spring I would recommend going after the 40-45mm of sag that has been discussed on the forum a couple of times. What you need to do is install the spring and take a measurement of the spring installed with no weight on it and then drop the sled on the ground and measure the spring length with your weight + gear on and then subtract that distance from the first installed measurement. The proper difference between the two measurements should be 40-45mm. Adjust the spring till you get this magic number. Rememer the minimum installed length can be no shorter than 10.42 inches (otherwise you will get coil binding) and the max installed length should be no more than a little over 11 inches (accurate spec on the max length is in the owners manual). I believe with your weight setting the spring around 10.6 inches should get you real close.
Remember the inches measurements on this post are for a Apex GT with the electronic Ohlins shock. The other mono shock models with the Kayaba shock have a cam adjustment on them and these specs mean nothing for them. The 40-45 mm of sag adjustment does apply to the Kayaba shock also so if you are tuning it try to get the same as far as sag goes but you will be doing it with the cam adjuster.

am I looking at wrong chart. I thought that the Ohlin shock should be set at 280MM (11.023 on bench) for 220-230Lb. I figured that was 200-210 Lb drive + 20 Lb gear & snow? Then check 40-45MM sag (would be 9.250 - 9.450) ??
