Currently installing the rear Yamaha skid plate. Are you supposed to remove the factory rotor and chain case guard? Seems like the skid plate would fit a lot better with those removed. It currently doesn't seem like it fits over top very well. Also has anybody bought extra washers to put on the inside of the plastics to reinforce the nuts?

I left the brake and chaincase plates on mine, more protection the better. I used a heatgun on low to help contour the the plate over the existing covers when installing. I also installed washers inside and out too! Drilled a few small holes in the the channels also, to aid in draining water out when it thaws out in the garage.

I have installed 3 of them and most of my friends run the skid plate also without removing the rotor or chaincase covers. It fits. As said above just add a little heat and get it bolted in place.
