So a few times lately when I start the sled the instrument pod would be dark. Nothing at all..no tach no lights or display. So today I decided to find out which r⁶elay was tied to ignition and powering it. I have struggled with the older manual for 2006 vk as the relay positions are not the same as my 2010. The relay is on the right side behind the pouch panel... the 3 relays from left to right are
1 ignition/instrument pod
2 headlights and tail light
3 electric carb heaters
When I removed the relay for the instrument pod from the frame and the socket..at least a teaspoon of antifreeze poured out. I'm assuming problem solved. Antifreeze was from refilling system 6 weeks ago and it overflowed when I was getting the air out. Relays are right below rad cap. Blew it out with air and cleaned it up. Hopefully end of problem.
