Insurance

It differs state to state. Il is always higher than wi. Same with mn.

I am still waiting to hear back from TD. I have everything else with Co-operators. Their price was a fair bit higher than TD. They also did not want to accept my 18 yr old son as a driver as the cc's are higher than 500cc. Guess I will wait and see if they get this figured out. Crazy pain in the a$$

Just heard back from TD about an hour ago... Swamp hog you should be hearing from them, lad on the phone knows there's other people in the exact same boat... Maybe give them a shout if ya don't hear from them today! :)

I wasn't aware that they could exclude other adults (related or not) from riding your sled. The story I got was that because I had kids between 12 and 16 living in the house they MUST be insured just in case I ever let them ride (but that was a 500cc at the time). seems like they make it up as they go.

Thanks skidooslayer687. We had a dusting of snow here today. Would have taken it for a spin down the road, but with no insurance I guess I will have to wait :die

Hahaha I hear ya! I was under strict instructions when I brought mine home... Put it in the shed, leave it alone and no going across the lawn haha... Definately glad they got this crap sorted out though!

Thats nothing in 02 it cost over $1000.00 per yr to insure an RX-1 here in Minnesota it came down after they figured it out. New models are always a problem.

No idea do not have it yet but my polaris 800's are under $200 per yr each. They are starting to realize these things sit for 9 months a year.

Just double-checked again with State Farm on the 417.85 that I was quoted for full coverage with 500 ndeductable. It was confirmed that the $417.85 is correct. Since I have an umbralla policy I must carry a higher liability which raises it a bit. If I chose $1000.00 deductable it would drop to $375.00 per year. It is what it is, lets RIDE!!! ;)!

Wow apex $417! That seems really high

Sorry, but I have to ask....

What do you base your above comment on? "That seems really high" --compared to what? All we know is his premium; we don't know what all his benefits are, how high the liability limits are, what are the deductibles, is it on his home policy or a stand alone policy, etc. If one person is paying more, it could means there is night and day differences in the insurance. Also he is in Illinois and you're in Wisconsin, each state has different insurance rules & regulations to follow. It's almost like saying apples & bananas should cost the same because they're both fruit.

Hell I pay $375 with 500 deductible for a 2012 nytro xtx thru state farm cheapest I could find.

seems high to me also i pay 250 for the sled 250 for the atv

Just insured my Viper XTX. $310.00 for the year. That is through Nationwide. Have a friend in the UP of Michigan with a different insurance company and he is going to pay approximately the same. We both have other toys with our insurance companies and no claims on anything. So, I am assuming this is the going rate with a reputable insurance company.
