Intake air temps- supercharger - turbo?

hammer, less intake temp, equals a more dense charge. more dense charge makes more hp. jeff

Got it… As you cool the after compressor charge it becomes more dense (smaller), as a result you can pack more charge in a fixed amount of space, the more charge you can pack into that fixed amount of space, the greater the horsepower potential…

Hammr.... ??#($$@(@)!!#_! maybe i read you wrong... but the fact is cooler dense air is better.... it's about filling the cylinder with as much fuel and air as you can.... go back to your ballon,,, can you put more air in with cold or hot air.... this applies to all engines..... hey jeff,,, way to go at the shoot out this weekend..... nothing better than making those big numbers and driving it back to the trailer, alive and well... again,, great job to you and the team !

thanks kip, it was nice to see you again and show you how far we have advanced since last year. now lets build one for you!! jeff

Hammer, I 've been reading your posts and trying to figure a way to explain why intercooling increases HP. But the bottom line is it definetly does. I've built several big block chevy supercharged motors some with the large roots type blowers and some with centifigal blowers like a Procharger with and without intercoolers. In every case with no motor changes adding a intercooler adds HP and not just a couple. A 800HP big block without a intercooler will make roughy 70 more HP with one and watching boost pressure above and below the intercooler you will loose about 2 psi in the process [10psi before 8psi after] As you cool the charge it becomes denser, it was not due to any restriction in the intercooler. Every motor on my Superflow dyno has shown these kind of increases, thats the facts. I've seen the same kinds of increases percentage wise with 2 stroke snowmobiles also. The denser the charge the more power you make. HONEST. Think about a snowmobile running across a lake at 30 degrees air temp and then run across the same lake after the temp dropped to 0 degrees, which will feel better?

For the record.

The balloon thing is an excerpt from KENNE BELL and not from me.

I'm a boost rookie...........ready and willing to learn.

(Just finished my SCApex install last night... ;)! )
