Interchangeable key-start-assy?

Do anyone know what is different between the key assy between the different rs sleds, the main assy has a different part number between yrs.

My Rs Rage -05 keys have been stolen and I will need a new key-assy. Local shops got the replacement for a 2007 rage but not the 2005, oem part nr is different between the two.

Will they interchange anyway?

Cutting and solder conectors is not that big of a problem if its the only difference.

yamaha changed key styles. 05, 06, and 07 each had a different style key so that is the reason for different part numbers. The plugs between 05-07 are all the same. The 07 switch you mention will plug right into your 05.
