Interesting Skid Shock Spring info

Stingray I hear you but all posts eventually stray a bit. To keep confusion to a minimum I would always update the first thread. Then people don't have to read 13 pages. Anyone who starts a thread can always edit the first post.

Installed yesterday AC 160# spring (2704-229). Helped alot. Overall handling is now better. Thanks Stingray for help. How much preload you guys use with 160 spring?

Until the collar touches and two full turns is what I run. 65 pounds in front floats and 110 to 120 in rear float

With the cat spring which is dual rate you have 1/4in of adjustment before the first rate is compressed fully and then you are essentially making it a single rate spring. Have it on my 129 now also. Cant wait to try. I believe my stocker was bagged out. Just need snow!

Okey thanks. Not sure if I understood. Do you have some pics or dimensions? Its now like stingray said, turn until it hits spring and then two full turns. Maybe little too much ski pressurre still, not sure. But, I have blade skis so that will effect too for heavy steering.

You can play with rear float shock pressures a bit to take some ski pressure off as long as you don't go too soft

At 2 full turns you are right in the middle of that springs intended adjustment range. Perfect place to start.

Its just a reinforcement/pattern for the rails so you can relocated the holes for the front arm.

The text on the site says it makes the geometry like the M8000. It should help with lighter ski pressure and reduced steering effort.

LOL did that to our red Viper but went to diff spring on the blue Viper. Using a spring allows for many changes without redrilling holes in your skid

As far as I could see, the site didn't tell what Viper skid these were for.
