My logic in going with the tab is, it's like having a laptop with me and I can use it for my music, watch the data logger and locate gas or a restaurant when needed. And my eyes suck so I need something big that's easy to see!
NS1 is a super nice unit, and well priced for all the features you get. Plus you can mount it on most modern sleds. It’s android based and will run the GAP flasher app.

We a have a couple of heat pads in stock... Very thin and you epoxy them to the mount....
They will come standard with the copitrail we will sell. We have a few copitrail units for sell same as. A td flasher but with the heated pad mount and a high speed gps to measure performance an log it. As well as gps map system.

Saber I'm not familiar with that unit, do you have a link?

I went with the copitrail with the heated element, and mount. Will be testing it out this weekend, hopefully no iPad issues.

I never felt the iPad/iPhone was a viable solution for typical trail rider, much less at minus 36. This past week or so has been colder then I can remember in very long time. These temps are taxing on a sled in general, but iPads really suffer.
My iPhone X does surprisingly well in minus 36. My older iPhone would be dead in just minus 15 within a few hrs, not even a drop with this new phone.
I started a thread hoping GAP would chime in....I want a momentary switch, maps switching, factory gauge splash screen, and knock detection all on a sled that looks bone stock and works in the cold as it should. Im not sure we will ever see AFRs in stock gauge but the rest should be dooable as others have shown this already.
Miles are going on much earlier this season then previous many seasons, so Im really hoping we get the tunes with all their options very soon!

The knock protection will be in the Guage if you don't want to run an iPad.My iPhone lasted about 10 minutes. In my opinion this is not a viable option, we need the knock protection into the gauge. I would also like AFR into the gauge. If not I’m going to have to run the Gap AFR and another one for constant read out.
Dan, we can't get AFR's without adding an O2 sensor. There is nothing on the sled now that will give us this info. Only problem with the stock gauge is, you can only see so much info at any given time. I like how the Gap software allows us to see whatever we want all at once.

Ben, I would be interested in one of these to put in between my Garmin and it's mount. The Ski Doo heat pads are rigid and won't work. Are they on your site?

You can't compare it... If you need stock look the new update coming on the td flasher and copitrail will have live map tune switching via a hardware button on your handle bar and the tune Name will appear on the factory dash also the factory dash will flash the two heat warning light in the case of knock Event. And you can still datalog on your cell phone in your pocket or in a heat protecting pouch and mount to use as a boost gauge and custom gauge.Dan, we can't get AFR's without adding an O2 sensor. Very powerful stuff. There is something for everyone.
I have been testing every weekend in extreme cold with my iPad with no heater element and no issues here I finish the day with 27-40%battery. However we do a lot of stop and go. The heater element will keep iPad warm on extreme cold days.

Yes I realize AFRs only can work when tapped into muffler, obviously.Dan, we can't get AFR's without adding an O2 sensor. There is nothing on the sled now that will give us this info. I just dont think the iPad was ever meant to be a "trail" setup......I know I never looked at it that way. I will use my large screen iPhone with the special case I have, ram mounted. I plan to use that setup for the live data when radar running, and testing ect.....Not something I would run on trail as we ride for days sometimes.
I think the live data is priceless, and its all a killer setup with iPad or iPhone, but will always have its drawbacks in cold temps. We pound these sleds for many hours at a time when trails turn into junk by end of weekend, I sure would not trust an iPad to stay in place...lol
I feel like the live data is great, you can verify things and not worry.....knock protection will be built in for safety on fuel if out far and no prem avail. So i sure hope the switch and stock gauge map switching comes along very soon, for guys without iPad setup.
Dan
Agreed Dan, I never thought we would see the day were we could rely on a lithium battery operating in in sub zero temps, but now with Bluetooth and heat pads available it sure is better than the days when we had to ride with a power cord going into your phone and corded ear buds going into your helmet along with a cord for the electric shield. My god! I don't know how many times I jumped off the sled at a stop only to be hauled back to the sled tethered like that!

Just the fact we can wick up these sleds to 270++ HP in seconds is awesome itself!
For sure! Bad gas...no sweat, 30 seconds later your monster sled is a grocery getter!
