Is anyone else finding broken primary springs?

Not sure if it's just me because I am involve with many 998's (flashing/maintenance) but I came across 3 broken primary springs this week!!!!
1-one guy was out sledding up north sledding and texted me
2- I was setting up a guy's winder with a tune and when I pulled clutch apart to install dalton weights and spring was in 2 peices
3- i got a text from another friend today and spring was broke!!!

Anyone one else breaking primary springs?
# 1 has 240pm tune
#2 was stock but was in for tune
#3 sm bundle

Late to the party. Stock winder springs are known to be made of glass. Known issue since 2017.

It’s the reason most replace with a Dalton spring.

Yes, seen a few.
Don't replace with another yamaha spring, use dalton.

Crazy I know many guys with winders and never came across any broken springs until this week!!

My stock spring was broken when I went to tune it in November of 18. My last trip in March of 18 of my first season, I was probably riding with it broken...I didn’t know it. But it was engaging awfully low which is a sign of a broken primary spring.

They all can break , broke my Dalton white secondary spring today 300 miles or so , it happens .

Really you can pick any one of them, they are all pretty close in finish, my pick is the black/blue, green engages too high for me, red a little too low. What do you want to engage at?

Ran a Yamaha yellow green yellow for 8k. It’s perfect. Just ordered a new one and actually trying a blue white blue spring on next trip in the UP. Needed just a touch less finish for up top. I took the stock spring and threw it in the garbage as soon as I got sled home.

I have a 240 tune , the primary spring broke in 3 pieces , and I didn't know .
just felt a little too smooth on takeoff !
Any body else ever break one in 3 ???
