Is Sledheads worth joining? I have never seen their magazine, but took an interest after Pinball Wizard mentioned his sled may be in it.

In my opinion YES! They have some neat stuff in it. They show what people with lots of money can do with snowmobiles and I think its entertaining. Plus you get cool stickers.

I think they're a ripp off. They promised me some new stuff to try out to get consumer reviews when I joied 2 years ago, I never got a dam thing from them.

Talk about a timely topic! I have been wrestling with this decision for along time. I am a Charter member of Sledheads (one of the first 100 to join). There are over 10,000 people now in Sled heads.
I have been asking myself what exactly I'm gaining being a member of Sled Heads? I had the renewal notice sitting on the counter for a long, long time. I'd feel guilty everytime I see it and finally decided to call Sledheads and talk to them about my quandry.
I told them that I don't really use any of their discounts (maybe the 10% off at Shade tree once in a while). I did shame them into letting me test a pair of Klim boots last season (I hated them, they're like walking around in ski boots). I told them I really don't seem to learn much from their magazine either. It's not like Snowtech I said where I can read it for hours on end and learn all kinds of stuff. So why should I renew?
Then She (Robin Black) said it. You know we are going to be giving the Charter members a very special gift very shortly. Something like 50% off a choice of aftermarket items. Of course I'm thinking Nitrous or turbo
Ok, she convinced me to sign up for at least another year.
Honestly though at $29 a year and my suscripton coming due in the middle of snowmobile season (when I most need the extra money for stuff like snomobile gas) I'm not sure I will remain a member much longer.
The funny thing is; when I called Sled Heads they said they showed in their computers that I had just renewed my subscription? I know I hadn't renewed it. I tmakes me wonder if they don't have some type of automatic renewal system where they just bill you and hope you'll pay it? Sorry for the book. PB
