Is their an update or fix for these damn straps yet?

There is a new limiter strap.

Yamaha just released a new strap for the XTX. It only has one hole so there is no adjutability. Seems that the reason the stock strap gets damaged is when the strap is shortened it is now thicker and doesn't bend as easy. It then gets messed up by the drivers.

New part # 8hl-47495-09-00
Stock P# 8hl-47495-00-00

2 per sled

That's dumb. Have you seen this new strap?

Mine broke in the stock setting and that is long as they go.

I broke the left side my second ride out this year, replaced it, and now my right side strap is showing signs of damage, the bolts bent and the side is chewed up a bit, so now it needs to be replaced. I always run with them in the longest setting. The yammi ones here are 35 bucks a pop which is nuts! So i am bothered to go buy these new straps if they still move and get chewed up i will be upset. Anyone know the price of these new straps?

mach 9 do you have a picture of the mod that you did to the strap ?

The best fix, wasn't my idea but it works and is so easy to do.
You don't need to try the new straps from Yamaha.
If your existing straps are still OK, add an extra strap layer to the front side. It makes them very thick and stiff.
More stiff than thicker straps Yamaha is now offering.

I also went the extra mile and welded extra traps on the top shaft.
Visit the FAQ section.
Here is the link, look for Limiter Strap Fix.

No I have not seen the new strap. I just read the Tech Tip that Yamaha sent out. It is just shorter with no adjustment holes. I agree it seems dumb, but that is all Yamaha is offering right now.

Same thing happened to the inner lugs of my track. The nut and bolt that hold the shock on have destroyed everything.

But, wasn't your issue a broken weld on the tabs thet hold the shock to the top shaft?
Maybe guys should have a look at that too, by beefing up the tabs with more weld.
