Is vecor LTX the perfekt sled ?

How satisfied are you vector owners ?

A new 2014 or 2015 Vector LTX will be my next sled. Current 2005 Vector (121") has just under 16,000 miles on it and it has been an awesome sled. I will keep it for a family sled. For trail riding, a Vector (in any length) is right there with the very best of all time (IMO).

I've been pretty darn picky the last few years. I had a Polaris edge 700 for a few years and decided I wanted rider forward and then switched to a doo REV then to a Fusion/IQ Polaris and now I have a 08 Vector. (this is all since fall of 2012) The Vector is by far the nicest of them. Granted the Rev and Iq were a few years older but I have stayed in a budget around $4k. I think my Vector drives easier than the rev or iq and it steers lighter imo. Also with simple duallies it doesn't dart and is very predictable. Just a really nice sled to drive.

Just traded my 08 vector on a 14 vector LTX. For me the power steering improved the sleds overall feel and is getting close to the perfect sled. Like always you think you need a few more hp

I really like my Vector. So does my wife. It has all the power one really needs for trail use & rides great (ours is LTX)

I may actually look into another Vector in a couple years for our older daughter. She started on an MXZ 440 fan this year, & if she sticks with riding, by the time she's 14-15 I'm gonna get her a Vector. They are just plain & simple a great trail sled.

My son got a new leftover 2013 Vector LTX and I bought a 2014 Vector LTX this season. We put the duner skis on my son's sled right away. We both like them a lot. Nice riding and very dependable. Very good gas mileage. I also have a 2002 Venture 600 and the only thing I don't like about the Vector is its not a warm as riding the Venture. I put the tall windshield on it which was the highest I could go with the lower enclosed trailer I have and it still is not as warm as my Venture. On cold days my wife and I have to switch sleds to stay warm. I ordered the hand sheer protectors and they went on backorder. I have to look if there is some kind of side deflectors available for that sled.

Currently struggling with a decision to either go Doo 1200 with R-Motion, or a Vector LTX with EPS?

I have read countless great reviews about the R-Motion but I am unsure how it compares to a newer Vector LTX with the mono-2 suspension, and of course EPS?

Anyone ever ridden both? Would love to hear some comparisons. ;)!

I have a 2010 LTX and its by far one of the best trail sleds Yamaha ever built. Put a wide front end kit on it as well and it rails. Ride is by far one of the most comfortable. It handles everything very well. Low centre of gravity, good on fuel. Mine doesnt have power steering but with a set of snowtrackers on it there is no darting, and easy to steer. My wife rides it most but I take it some times when I go Touring or sometimes when I go for ride with the boys. My buddies can't even believe how well it handles. They always comment that all I do when I ride is move the handle bars. It handles so well thats all I have to do. Plenty of power for trail riding and it will still reach the C note on the lake. ;)!

That's what I'm after the most (a better ride) I love my Vector, love the power, the reliability etc, but I must say, I am disappointed with my mono suspension.

I have had the mono rebuilt/re-valved and it's likely the best it has rode (this year) but I feel it is still too harsh, especially in the stutters where I can't seem to find a sweet/happy spot. (much better than when I first got it, but still room for improvement imo)

The 2010 Mono skid and newer are improved over your 08.

A bit funny the timing of your question, as I just came back from Sweden on business (Ostersund and Stockholm) on Saturday where I did some riding up at the mountains around Are (before all your fresh snow last week) on a rental 2014 CAT mountain machine. Awesome experience, both the town of Ostersund and riding up there. (I stopped at the Woolpower factory and stocked up.)
I just moved from a 2010 Apex LTX to a 2013 Vector LTX for the power steering and everyone else I ride with are on the Yamaha 3 cylinder motor, and I was tired of worrying about the 25-35 km less working range I had on the Apex. We do an annual 2000km trip each year.
Observations about my Vector: Vector motor/drive train doesn't have an annoying resonance at 50km/h that my Apex had, as well as the Vector exhaust being much quieter (I don't need ear plugs as much (ok I'm over 55).
Power steering takes some time to adjust to, as I kept over-steering the Vector (I had to push the Apex thru corners).
Vector clutches appear to rattle eventually, which appears to do something with the clutch drive spline (my buddies 2010 Vector LTX (5000km) started at about 2500km. The Vector seat is softer than the my Apex seat, which drops me about 2.5cm lower in my seating position - but is easier on the butt after a 300km day. Vector has a small radiator for cooling which Hans (Ostersund) Phaser didn't seem to have.
If you are going to play in deep snow up in Are, consider an Apex, but if you are simply touring for the day, the Vector (I like the LTX for smoothness) is an awesome overall sled.

Cool ! The World is not so big !

As you see we have not much snow this year. Bu there is new winter coming soon.

Hope your visit in sweden was good.

I own a vector LTX 2008 earlier, that a miss today.
Now I have RS Venture 2012 eps
But I dream about a new vector as a extra sled.

It might be. I have a Vector LTX EPS. It's a great sled. The handling should be the exact same as the Apex
but something is slightly different and better about it. My kids have no problems riding it all day.
Last spring my son who was 11 at the time did over 150 miles on it and wanted to keep on going. Granted
we weren't' going fast but that's the amazing part of EPS. A 11 year old could handle the sled effortlessly.
The kids have put over 3,000 miles on the Vector over the last 2 seasons. It gets good fuel milage. It handles
well and carves decent breaking trail. The Vector comes across as a Grandpa or Chick sled which is too bad
because its a high performance machine. The Vector will run 100 mph all day long and in a drag race it beats
my Nytro. I'll own the Vector for the next 20 years. Why would I get rid of it? whoever turns the key on it
starts having fun.

My favorite sled though is my Venture GT TF. This sled is total comfort. I bought it for my wife but I drove
it for about 800 miles this year. It's a hoot. It's warm with the HUGE windshield. The backrest nestled
up against my back is like a Lazy Boy. The EPS is effortless. Yes I have to give it respect in the corners
but if I go into a corner like I'm driving my F350 I can confidently hold an edge and drive it thru with no
inside ski lift. Suspension is surprising & soaks up small and medium stuff with decent speed with zero to
very little effect on the driver. I broke trail on the TF, I carved with it and I even took a nap on it. Sorry
to get off topic with the Venture but they do share a lot of the same DNA. I really like both of them.
Your Venture looks good Mr.Y
