It’s In! Venom Mountain

These shocks are a perfect match. Valving tbd. Definitely lighter than stock but not as light as Floats. A great option for the trail models though. I am going to make the Floats work. Big weight advantage. Thank you Murdered. Don’t let these here long or you won’t get them back!

ProCross Bumper is permanently mounted now. If buying a Venom do yourself a favor and get a bumper on right away. Even the stock single loop on all the other sleds. It’s crazy how much a guy uses bumper even just for moving it around. For single loop bumper no mods are needed to skid plate and there are thousands out there if guys didn’t throw them away.

The skid mod needed to mount front bumper. Hated doing it but glad to have a decent bumper. Basically you have to cut holes in front skid to get bumper on. Once on all holes for bolts line right up. May make a mini skid if these holes become a issue with snow or branches getting stuck in them but that can wait.

As you may know battery is in front where cylinder would be. So tank has a big void. Venom seat is bolted on at rear. No clip so I would like to use this area for storage. Will either make bolt hand removable or make a clip.
Found this on Ebay. Should work fine. I will fab up a nice box to put in the hole soon. Might be able to fit a qt of oil for sure!

Windshield Bag
The two tabs at front perfectly match stock windy holes. The rear will need to drill holes and add same pushpins. Easy mod. I plan on wiring in Rocks power supply and putting it and my gps and phone in the bag for easy access. This bag was for my Viper. Can’t use it on there since going to 6” screen and Ram mount. GPS comes in handy even off trail so you know your legally riding and for those secret spots. But doesn’t have to be permanently mounted like my trail sled. Will just use my $20 Garmin.

Power supply same as all other models. I need to find power on hood itself since I dont want to be disconnecting anymore than I have to to get hood off. Right now stock its just the one main harness plug like we all have. Also in pic is Chaincase fill plug. It used to be just a nice rubber plug. I might get one of those instead of having to pry this thing out.No Actuator since engine reverses. Yea! No sight glass in either tank. 2st oil you just look in there being careful not to fill past white plastic and chaincase you fill to level screw. One thing with 2st there is nothing in there. Just 2 gears and chain. Adjuster also. Once comfortable with longevity of those parts I will just drain case through the level hole or suck it out like I did on rr. I don’t anticipate any issues with this system and is one less project to do every year!

Couple videos first is my Daughter last season trying a Blast/Venom out. Mind you she rode my modded Phazer 500mi+ just the day before. She was truly amazed and talked about this ride for a long time. The smile on her face is enough to make $ no object. Fun!

The second is something I noticed today which brought a big smile to my face!

Full Skid installed. Not sure why but this is third I have installed and the job always kicks my butt. Not sure if it’s stress of drilling holes in a brand new sled or laying on back to do it. Oh well it’s on and best I can do to avoid crushing bottom!

Underside of hood. Very light compared to a Windèr hood. Have a few ideas and Rockmiester has some of his own to get on here. Thanks Rock!

Center shock found a perfect match. Will need to be careful with this one. Guys who break the Monorail report it starting with bottoming this shock so Valving TBD. Will start with my 137” valving and Stingray spring. It won’t bottom!

I recently got these Fox FIST sealheads for all the HPG shocks. They should keep moisture out which is a major issue with the center shocks. Hard scraper with O-ring seal on scraper. Will try. The off trail guys I see worst moisture in shocks so good test. Bad part is it’s $50 part on a $80 shock. Alternative is much more though. New sealhead on right.

There it is. Only had 1 Stingray spring left and it’s spoken for so running the stock one for now. Glad I have adjustment here now. Just rear to deal with now.

Rear shock. Going to have to order a shaft to use that float but may just buy a coil over. This shock is same as fronts except for the Valving and spring position. Feels terrible. Lot of sticking and dead spots. Maybe better once broke in. Oh and the Upper wheel comes right off with hands. Shaft has a flat on it for a wrench to keep it from spinning. Very nice!
