I just came home late last night, I was up in da Yooper. Sunday morning I unloaded at the Kontiki Bowling alley in White Pine. The snow was piled up along the road edge from plowing and I stuck the sled 2 times just trying to get to the trail. They have not begun to groom and it was a nightmare the third time I burried the sled up to the windshield & could not get it out I found a guy with a plow truck and paid him to pull me out.

That was it -3- miles in 2 hrs after a 7 hr drive up on Saturday. I worked on my cluthing, new Ohlin shock settings, and a few minor bugs on the new motor & fuel injection in the parking lot.

The RApeX-1 is awesome the 1100 cc stroker pulls like nothing Ive ever ridden and I am still figuring out the fuel Hauck accelerator. I was hoping to get 100 or so break in miles on the new motor but only managed a total of 4. :bling  :bling

I talked to one of the local trail groomers and he said they are planning to get the groomer back from Ontonagon later this week. & start grooming by the weekend. there is a lot of open water and wet areas but I think this is the best base I have seen on the 1st weekend in years.

I drove up to mass city and the snow is even deeper there. I was in some snow that was almost waist deep. The weather man is calling for another 17" of LES this week.

Yea, I was up mass city as well and man do they have the snow. Got the phazer stuck, but not the apex. I could not believe the snow they had up there.

Boy I could not believe how few people were out in it. It would have helped me if someone would have ridden on the trails I was on.

i was up that way myself this weekend. stayed at the Maple Ridge Motel just outside of bergland. rode up to silver city on 102 then on the 11 into silver city. went up to lake of the clouds. that never seems to get old. then headed down to white pines and stopped and ate at the konteka around 2:00 pm. and then down to bergland. ate at antonios that night. great pizza! put about 110 miles on the sled on sunday. they got another 6 inchs or so sunday night. put about 25 miles on monday morning before i had to head back home. drove almost 1000 miles round trip to put 135 miles on the sled. But man was it worth it.

i only got stuck once. on trial 1 i believe just outside of white pines. was coming up out of ditch right at a access road. there was water underneath the snow and my track just sank. i was stuck real good. a guy with a truck came buy and pulled me out. he ended up being the owner of the Foothills bar up in silver city. he was very nice and went out of his way to help me. i will defenitely stop there next time to eat, and encourage everyone else to as well.

All in all is was a great trip! a long way to drive, especially thru the ice on saturday, but still a great trip. were supposed to get 2-3 down here in illinois today. that just doesn seem like much to get excited about right now....

i've got some pictures, but i dont know how to add them. if someone will tell me how to attach them, i'll throw them on there

No need to go to the U.P. Been riding out of Baldwin for four days now. Snow is 8-12" of hard packed frozen solid base. The Caberfae Trails are even better. :)
