I keep hearing pro's and con's of both, wondering what everyone elses take is on this...
Does the paper K&N really not survive the moist enviroment? Even with a pre-filter?

i'm thinking of hanging a big k&n out the back of my bender.this is only used for drag racing so i don't think snow will be a issue.it may look stupid but i really can't think of any other way

I will be keeping it under the side panels...
I know the K&N's filter fine "snirt" better, the local trails around me usually aren't pristine. Curious how long they last with moisture and ice buildup, i know the foams are coarser but last and don't plug...

do you think there is enough room under those covers to get the right size filter in there? i'd do it that way if i thought i could get away with it.kind of gives the turbo away when you got a huge filter hanging out of the tail pipe lol.i wonder how much cfm you need with a 2560 at 18lbs

Here is another thread where BigDog05 shows his Bender stage 2 with a K&N SN-2510 (6") under everything.
They come shorter, as well, but didn't investigate CFM capability yet, waiting to see if it's worth the effort.

yeah, I don't want to give it away either, hoping the DEC officers don't notice the intercooler thru the hood opening at checkpoints...

Do you think it will be much different filter spacing on a stage-2 Apex? I was hoping I could just assume it's the same as your RX1...
Hey, how do you like that 2560?

Run a k&n with the snowcharger prefilter, it flows great and snow just falls off.

Next year move her to the front and you won't need the n2o!

Hahaha, you mean he won't ONLY need it if he moves it up front... He's gonna also need a tail wind? LOL...

This is what I'm running and it ices up everytime I go riding causing lost rpms/boost. And it's mounted on the outside of my hood, not at the rear.
