Silly question here guys. If I leave the key in the on position, should that discharge and kill the battery or do I have a different issue? Somehow yesterday I left the key on, and now the battery is totally dead. Just a coincidence that I had planned to charge it tonight anyway to get ready for the year, but it seems odd. I would have thought there would be a failsafe like modern cars that shut stuff down after so long to preserve the battery.
Its a good question. I dont believe I ever left it on long enough to know. Dash is always lit as far as I have seen.

It keeps your solenoids on, stator plate on and everything on standby waiting for you to start the engine...
If you hit the kill switch then this takes over and saves the day for you...
You need to shut off either...
