I have put about 950 miles on a set in my 06 Apex GT in varying snow conditions. I am running 8" Woody's Ace carbides on them. I was previously running Pilot 5.7 skis. I would say they steer about as easy or maybe slightly easier than the Pilots with a bit more bite in aggressive corners. I did experience some darting at one point but I think the conditions would have made any set of skis dart a bit. It was in the high 30's with very packy snow. One thing I noticed during the warmer weather is that I got a bit of slip/bite in aggressive corners when the snow was really wet where it would push a little and then bite. I think it was just the conditions that day because they didn't do it any other time.
I would not say that Snowtrackers are a necessity on them but I have never run them (not really a fan of that much steel on the bottom of a ski). For me, it is really a toss up between the Pilots and the Rush skis. Either will greatly reduce the steering effort of the non-EPS sleds but I think the Rush skis steer just a little easier. The Pilot skis do push a little more in a hard corner but seem to be a little more predictable in all conditions.
The cost difference between the 2 types of skis is very minimal once setup with the proper carbides. I think the Pilots skis may wear better long-term.

They need snow trackers?
Was thinking about putting a set on my son's attack instead of buying snow trackers
Any single keel ski can dart in the right conditions. The cobra head in keel minimizes darting, but it's not a 100% fix for darting.
I am mainly testing these as an alternative to the tuner skis on newer sleds. If you have stock skis, I would stick with snowtrackers.

But... I am guessing you have not tried these skis so your opinion is kind of a moot point.IMO anything with the kimpex name on it is Junk!

I would think they would be a good groom trail ski, the price is right for sure, to bad they didn't come in wider versions though, 5.5" is not so good on a Apex in the deeper stuff or in non groomed trails 6.5" or 7" versions would be better.I have put about 950 miles on a set in my 06 Apex GT in varying snow conditions. Mikes Nytro
Newbie
I bought a stock 2008 Nytro RTX last summer and I had the same darting issue as everyone else. I purchased the Kimpex Rush ski kit on ebay for $234.00 that included 4" J-Edge 60 degree carbides and all the mounting hardware and ski loops. As near as I can tell, all the shocks and straps are set at the original factory settings. I also carefully aligned the front suspension with a light bungee cord across the ski loops to make sure the skis cannot go toe in at all. I set the skis as close to straight as I could measure them. The result is that the Kimpex Rush work fantastic! No darting, easy steering, and absolutely great control. At first, I noticed they seem to push in the corners so I clicked the rear suspension spring up one setting to put a little more weight on the skis and man it corners like it is on rails. I love these skis. They just runs straight down the trail no matter the snow conditions and carve the corners. And now, my Nytro runs better than any sled I have ever had. Love this thing! I highly recommend the Kimpex Rush ski's. I put a set on a 2008 Phazer and had the same great results.
