My 13mm arrived yesterday and I read up on his post in FAQ - I knew it would be easy but seeing it laid out sure helped.

All in all it took less than 30 minutes working in an unheated garage, on an icy floor from the tunnels melting, including a one mile rip on it to make sure everything is good to go.

One thing I would add is the pioneer goes on a little harder than the stock one, even with opening it up slightly. I would add anti-seize on the splines if I did it again. Normally th is is something I would have done anyways but by the time I tapped it on there it was too late.

Again thanks for the visual!

I'll second that, I installed mine on Saturday and was in and out in less than 30 minutes as well. Now hopefully we get some more snow so I can try it out.

Hey guys did your sway bar arms go parallel to each other or was one off a little, tried flipping and switching them and can’t seem to get them to go parallel to each other. Does it have to be parallel or can it be offset a little? AM I THE ONLY ONE NOT ABLE TO PUT MINE ON CORRECTLY?

Blue Lightening.... far as I know they went on equal...I did it all under the sled. But my lines were in the same spot on both.

I also found it a piece of cake to install. Install the arm on one end, slide it in and wrestle a bit to get the other side on. Had to slightly twist the arm. Done in half hour or 2 beers.

YUP WOULD HAVE HAD IT DONE IN 15 MINUTES IF THE THING WOULD LINE UP PROPERLY !!! HAD BETTER LUCK PUTTIN RINGS ON THE SRX !!! GONNA SEND IT BACK AND MAYBE SEE WHAT BRUCE CAN DO!! SOMETHING ISN;T RIGHT HERE!! WISH I WAS AN LUCKY AS U GUYS. MAY ORDER A NEW SET OF SWYA BAR ARMS , MINE SEEM TO BE DIFFERENT CUT SPLINES!!

The more I think about it I would just say...forget the lines on it. Install one side and put it into the sled and attach the links.

Now go to the other side of the sled and attach the links in the same position so its not binding.

The lines are just reference adn have no bearing on anything.

Mine lined up perfect, but like Kevin G. said, as long as they are in the same position and not binding you are good to go. No need to send it back.

Swaybar Install

Ok…. so I went out the garage last night. I lifted the front end up, pulled the old sway bar out and attempted to put the new one in again.

I encountered the same issue. With the original bar I was able to line up both arms so they both lay flat on the bench. With the new 12mm one it would sit flat and the other ¼ off the bench no matter how I installed the arms. I tried every combination including flipping them one at a time. ¼ inch isn’t much BUT, while trying to bolt it back on the sled the hole in the arm it wouldn’t line up properly. It was off by that ¼ inch. I could get it to go in but would need to force the arm up to line up the bolt. (not the bolt to hold the arm to the shaft)

My question is…

Does it line up or do you have to force it just a little bit to get the bolt back in. I find I am off by that ¼ inch…. and will the added tension matter?

Thanks,

Moose

I had to force mine a little. I put the sled back on the floor and pushed up and it went in, in about a minute of screwing around with it. I would have thought it would have been a little better line up...

IF the lines don't line up ,
try to put the links on , on the bench ,
they must be parallel to each other or the bar is made wrong !

Did you speak with Bruce or send it back yet? I am planning on calling him in the morning. Something I want to get resolved before going on my first weeklong trip in 3 weeks.

I agree with gsxr... same thought last year when I first tried to put them on.

Yeah Moose emailed bruce said it could be a combination of arms and the sway bar, he said to sent them back but may order another arm just too make sure its not just my arms that are not working. also he doesn't have anymore 13mm ones until he gets more. rather try a new arm , only taked 3 days to get yamaha parts, and see where it goes i guess, but can;t see why the yamaha sway bars works in the splines and the pioneer one doesnt. i'm assumin the line indictates that they have tryed the arms and everything off a sample parts from an actual sled. anyway hope this helps,

JP
