larger diameter shaft for rear suspension?

I finally got to put some miles on the new phazer. I read all the issues i could find out about, and adressed everything i could. this was to be a 600 mile trip. At 390 my friends ski doo lost a suspension bolt. while checking underneath mine for a bolt to rob i quickly discovered my day was also over! Missing bolts, and a bent shaft where the transfer link pivots below the front shock. I think i read somewhere that there was a replacement shaft that bypassed the bushings in the interest of a larger diameter for strenghts sake.the bushings are a joke anyway. I will make this shaft if i am mistaken about this(maybe a batch of them). If anyone knows about this i would appreciate some info(part number) My sleds at the dealer right now! Warranty is up after this! I would reallly like that shaft to be installed while theyre at it!

I was unable to get a satisfactory suspension setting in the rear. I ran the rebound fully open(would pack at speed otherwise). It was slightly overdampened, untill a hundred pounds of ice built up(block off kit mandatory)and not quite progressive enough! Im not looking forward to a revalve unless i can ride one that performs correctlly first! I ran fx clickers on the front, and all i can say is Wow! these are probobly the best front shocks i have ever used! full range of adjustment(well beyond what is needed in both directions),no fade, definately correct for the front of the phazer! Floats are sold on ebay(leaking air shocks are a right of passage ive gone through in the 80's(also fox)). What the hell did yami do to the rear? I will try to make a "wrench n ride" day in the near future on some local whooped out trails, but i dont think it can be solved within the adjustment im allowed.Anyone found a working set up? Anyone had any luck hacking other rear suspensions into their phazer?I bought this sled to be comfortable on long rides,so im not interested in a sno-pro suspension. I do ride at speed, but i can avoid the large jumps with this sled. I still own my sno-pro! Something in a touring sled config. thanks!

The replacement shaft is same size dimensionally but I believe is made of Chrome Moly since it was much harder to straighten than original. It also uses the bolts for strength since they are recessed into shaft.None of this helped prevent mine from bending in one ride last year.I believe the bushings are the key.Stockers are flimsy plastic and only at ends.

What I did was put OilLite bushings through the whole length of the pivot in hopes of adding support to the shaft.Ulmer was going to make a kit same way but I dropped the ball and havent gotten him the dimensions necessary.
If made correctly I believe this will end bent shaft issues. So far so good.If anyone can get Ulmer the dimensions I would appreciate it since I really dont want to remove mine unless I have to.I would buy a kit from him since the ones I made arent the greatest fit and I know his would be.

As for shocks I cant say enough good things about my Custom Axis rear.Plush ride, softest spring setting and it doesnt bottom.Mine is just compression adjustable but the rebound is spot on so not necessary.
