Went out for my last ride of the year on Sunday and had a little oops.

Took a nose dive off the edge of the sandpit, hit the bottom pretty hard and bent the front bumper. Broke my windshield in the process. I rode back to my place about 60 km and my machine felt okay.

Just wondering if there is an easy way to or place to look to see if I did any damage to the sub-frame. Tried searching a bit but only found really badly damaged sub-frame pics. Is there somewhere I can measure to make sure everything is good?

Three really simple things I would start with...
1. Look at the flat plate in the bottom of the sub frame with the large hole stamped in it. Obviously it should be flat, if it is wrinkled or warped something is bent.
2. Pull it up to your garage wall, square it up and see if both ski tips are touching the wall.
3. Pull off your side panels and run a tape measure from your jack shaft to your ski bolt on each side, obviously they should be real close. If not your the newest member of the bent sub frame club congratulations...not!
Good luck, and glad your alright after your "mishap"

just compare where the front shocks are located in the a-arms. doubtful you bent both sides exactly the same so this will give a quick visual indication.
