Anyone change there Sidewinder to the newer spindle and upper control arm? is there a lot of improvement to be worth the upgrade?

I have but I cant comment yet and my comments would be worthless because I had the mtn style front end before. I will say though that the reason I switched was my wifes 2020 riot handles amazing, especially in rough chopped up curves. Holds a line and feels ioncredibly stable and predictable and no inside ski lift. I will have feedback once the snow flys but like I said I can only compare to the more narrow mtn style front end that was on my xtx-se

I have. I think the changes to the '20+ front end has improved the front end handling even more. I always thought the front-end was the best vs the other front-ends found in the competitive sleds, but the improvement is even better with less inside ski lift and even more predictable control in the corners.
Keep in mind there is more to the '20+ front end changes than just the spindles and the upper a-arms. There are changes to the the geometry in the rails, bigger upper idler wheels, mounting position of the skid, limiter straps, and beefier mounting brackets for upper a-arms.
With the new changes, I have more control in the corners with less bottoming out as well in the center shock in the skid. Overall, I'm very happy with the upgrade.

I second that! I’m really liking the 2020 upgraded suspension coming off a 2016 turbo viper!I have. I think the changes to the '20+ front end has improved the front end handling even more. I feel there is improvement compared to old setup. I was getting it dialed in on my last ride thanks to Yamamarc. I will know better this year I have made changes to all shocks and springs and I think it’s gonna kick #*$&@. But need snow now to test will keep you up dated. Also keep in mind I have RTX.
Thanks Pan

I don’t know guys. I only spent a lot of time on new front end Cat 800 with srx springs and 1” track so not a fair comparison. Very different setup than mine also. To me it worked great on hardpack smooth trail. Better than mine. Like first tracks in morning after being groomed. Everywhere else my sled dominated. Also find it interesting the direction Cat went on XC sled. Old spindles. 129” and the original rr skid. All depends on setup, where and how you ride.

Must be a reason for it! But for my weight I used to smash the front skid shock constantly even with hygear spring and now I haven’t noticed it bottom hardly at all.
I agree. Look at a new Doo or Polaris skid. Center shock is as long as our rear and rear is way longer than our rear. Gives shock more time to do its job. Is reason Trophy Trucks and Sport UTV's use huge shocks. Not just the travel. Just a note too. The RR skid has a very long front arm also. That skid is awesome. That's why I took it out of my RR and put it in Viper!Must be a reason for it! That’s why I’ve never been a fan of tightening limiter straps! Kind of defeats a long travel suspension. I always try to adjust to avoid that to keep full travel.I agree. That was all done because of oval racing.... Plus, like the article said... Every 10th counts when it comes to racing. Anyone that tells you a 137 corners better than a 129 is not being honest with themselves.. Its just not possible...I don’t know guys. My question is, the 2019 SRX was lowered. with the new spindles and rear geometry is the 20 and 21 SRX not higher???

Its not higher... The spindles changed, but the shocks/springs still determine the ride height in which is the same ride height as the 19, 20 and 21..Yes it would be higher in front than the 2019.
