just got a call from my dealer.
He got a service bulletin from Yamaha that REQUIRES dealers to install a boost gauge on ALL 2016 SRVipers with the MPI trail turbo.
My guess is Yami is trying to clarify what is causing the blow ups on the '16 sleds.

HMMM so they don't think they have a rod problem yet there is enough of them happening to cause this?

Or you can look at it as the EBAC problem is causing the problems not the rods. The gauge would ensure that the boost is set correctly.

Hmmm perhaps! My dealer called me a couple months ago about the recall of the boost controllers from MPI...said they should get the new ones in about a week. Well fast forward to now and still haven't got another call from the dealer. However, my sled runs 5-6lbs all day long so not too worried! I think the recall was for the 16 kits though yes? Maybe a few of these blow ups are guys that haven't been informed, took their sled in or unhooked the controller???Or you can look at it as the EBAC problem is causing the problems not the rods.
