I am collecting info on stuff I am going to do before the snow even flies... one is the swap to an AC 1.6" fully clipped track.

Having never owned a Yam... how difficult is a track swap on these machines? I have done track swaps on Polaris and Cat... but have a feeling these may be a whole new ballgame.

Anyone have any input?

if you've swapped a skid out on another sled than you can do it on your attak...

no big whoop

I'm curious about a few more details on this, too as I'll be swapping my Attak track over the summer and am new to Yamaha. On most other sleds you basically pull the skid, open the chaincase, remove the lower gear/bearing retained by either bolt or c-clip inside the chaincase, and the axle pretty much falls out at that point.

Are the Yamaha's a similar process? Or is there something wierd or different about 'em we should know? Thanks.

Thanks.

no you have to pull the whole chain case off. It's pretty easy to do.If you get into just post question you will get walked through it.

Sweet... Sounds like it shouldn't be too difficult!

Thanks all...

I am sure there will be a few ??'s when I get into this in the fall! (The reverse kind of freaks me out with the critical adjustments and all!)

first time for me 2 hours taking my time with no shop manual keep your pieces together as you take it apart no problems repack bottom bearing on speedo side with grease check bearings in chaincase upper outer bearing in case should be chained and leave seals on both sides so metal cant get in there use a ntn 6205
