I am looking to put a polaris brake assy on and I am planning on getting rid of the hand warmer and light buttons since I took the lights off and the warmers never really work.... Will I through a code on the heads up display if I get rid of the assy all together? Or is there a smaller switch that I can put on the dash and still keep the hand warmers? just a smaller switch cut and soder the wires back together

Yes it will throw a code (81) when your heaters are unplugged.

You can put resistors across the leads in the remaining end of the handwarmer connection. The system is just looking for a load. Maybe try a 50 Ohm power resistor and work from there.
