Lookin for a good sounding Muffler for 07 Apex GT

Does anyone have any ideas for a muffler for my sled? I herd about a single out. Where could I get one?

I am really happy with the way my sled sounds with a stock muffler gutted! Very cheap and was easy to do if you are or know a half way decient welder to patch it back up after cutting it all out.

I've got a Apex gutted stocker, rewelded with stainless filler so no issues of corrosion on the welds, it also has new gaskets. If any one wants to try it send me a P.M.

I rode an 06 GT with an Excell system...loved the sound at WOT, but droned too much between 30-70mph ( avg trail riding ). I also got to ride one with a gutted stock muffler....sounded awsome, it had a really nice growl and NO drone while traill riding.

Another thumbs up for gutted. No problems. There are instructions on here with pictures somewhere if you search for them. I followed them and it was pretty easy. I cut out all cross pipes in the muffler and welded it back shut. Not too loud at idle or when going through town. No problems with law officials, either. It's just louder when you open 'er up. I also have the airbox modded and you can hear that quite a bit as well. I cut the lower front portion of the air box out so that you still retain the foam filtration. Opening up the top of the box makes a visible change and may let water in.... pre filter material costs extra... Opening up the lower front of the air box lets in more air for free and retains the filtration. I also removed the little black flap in the nose of the sled that is held down by one screw. That lets in fresh air and it goes up underneath and comes in the lower front of the air box with no way for snow or water to get in. Awesome!

I'm not sure who makes it but the best one I've heard has a real low growl when you blip the throttle. It sounds just like Barry White singing "look at me, look at me, look at meeeeeee". Every 15-year old would think it's totally rad.

Ive got Benders trail version on mine, and its not too loud at all, and IMO, its similar but a bit "cleaner" tone than a gutted stocker. I don't notice much drone, other than just a tiny bit when riding approx 20 -25 mph? Even then its a pretty sweet sound.
Its a heck of a lot less expensive than many others, and bolts to the factory location, with a small ammout of trimming on one side of the OEM heat shield for the exhaust outlet.
