looking to buy a 06 nytro I don,t see much in the forums about them just looking to see what good or bad about them

I had on for 2 seasons(wifes) its an ok sled, handling sucks, tippy and its cold with terrible handwarmers, but all this can be fixed to some extent, also they burn through sliders like theres no tommorow. My wife always wanted to ride my apex, so I was I put a fair amount of time on this sled.

I have an '06 Nytro and absolutely love it. My only real complaint is that it is quite cold. I have mine set up for trail riding and it handles very good, similar to the old SX's, and way better than a Viper. I don't find it tippy at all, and inside ski lift is very minimal. It has great low end and mid-range power. I can hang with an Apex to about 100MPH, then the Apex will walk away from me. Until 8000 miles the only thing I replaced was idler wheels and sliders. The slider wear is no worse than on any of the other newer Yamahas. Infact, as many people on here have noted, the sliders will wear incredibly fast to the wear mark and then wear at a more normal pace and last a long time. At 8200 miles I finally lost a bearing (speedo), so I replaced all five at that time. At the same time I stretched the sled out and put a 136 M-10 under it. So far this year I've put about 1400 miles on the new set up, and just love it. In 3 seasons I have put just shy of 10000 miles on this sled, and plan on riding it for 2 or 3 more seasons. I would have to say that of all the sled I've owned, this is my favorite.

love mine. handling is all in the suspension setup. i did upgrade the handlebars to improve the warmers. and add the rear heat exchanger. i ride it and enjoy.

Exactly if you know how to tune a suspension they ride great and handle good.

I love mine. Since I bought a 13 mm pioneer bar and run the front floats so the arms are parallel the tippiness is completely gone. I have 1,500 miles on mine and sliders are fine.

Love mine. Bought a Vector because Nytros hadn't been available yet, so I had to make my own. Favorite sled yet. It's no Rev, but it handles well and you can ride it hard if you set it up right. Slider wear is very acceptable. Mine have been replaced only once since '04 and still going. Not the perfect sled but reliability and ease of use is what I like. Not looking to replace it anytime soon.

defently get one, low gas mileage, close to nothing amounts of oil intake, and almost no maintenance needed

I've had mine for a season now and I can't see myself riding anything else now. This is probably the best sled I've ridin. I don't find the handwarmers cold at all. In fact, I've been turning mine down on occation. and I've been riding in some cold temps this year.
If you want a great ditch banger, that gets good milage and keeps asking for more, get the Nytro.
