Looking at Powder Keg

I have searched but they don't seem as popular as Linq and there are not too many pics. I am thinking the low profile combo for my LTX SE,

few questions:
how waterproof are the bags?
do you run with just the bag when no additional fuel will be needed?
Do you find the storage adequate?
can I leave the small factory tool bag in place?

Pics would be great with and without fuel keg under the bag!!!

Powderkegg 7000series combo on my 15 ltxdx

I love my powderkeg on my XTX! Very solid, waterproof, easy to take along storage or fuel or both in any configuration. Easy to remove and put on.
Lots of room for everything I need including tools, Maps, siphon, jumper cables, spare belt, folding shovel, tow strap, zip ties, survival gear whatever you can think of.

I wish I knew the powderkeg exsisted before I bought my Arctic Cat bag, enjoy the thought of all that storage in that hard sided storage container.

Check with OCD he has one. I went with Linq and not that thrilled with it. Shoulda gone keg.

Let me see what i can find for pics.
I was able to leave the stock bag behind the seat. I carry tools & 2 belts in there.
The Sidewinder has less room in back then the Viper so the 700 doesn't fit.
I used their advice & used Black RTV Silicone to make a gasket on the rim.
I had some issues with the clamps which they replaced for free & have been rock solid since.

The thing I like best about linq is it quick releases in a second so you take into a motel easily

I'd like to time it to see how long it takes to remove a Powderkeg. I bet it's literally less than 10 seconds. Flip four latches open and it is free.

My wife has Linq on her Blizzard, and the Powderkeg is much more secured to the sled when on. No chance of coming loose.

I will admit that the Linq bags are typically easier to carry once removed though. The Powderkeg isn't built to walk around with. No handles or straps.

Nothing beats the LinQ system. BRP did well with this and it goes onto every brand I own.

On these weak tunnel procross, the LinQ spreads the weight to the LinQ brackets on outer edges where strength is, heck even the stock cat bag puts weight in center and may cause the tunnel to bend down.

Powderkeg is attached with four plates riveted to tunnel at the outer edge also.

I love my powder keg combo, but, if I did it again I would buy the 700 combo and move my tail light out to fit. I think I have the 123 and it was made for a ski doo with room underneath for the heat exchanges which makes the available room inside not ideal, and the lid is small when trying to pack it with vacuum bags of clothes. The powder keg is very solid and well built, I never look back to check if it’s there cause it isn’t going anywhere.

The PowderKeg attaches with 2 long brackets on the edges of the tunnel & it disperses weight through whole length of extended tunnel so it's as safe as any.
It detaches as quick as any also. I had a problem ATTACHING my first ones because they were very tight. The new ones are better.
I agree with RITBOY that i would move the tail light a bit to make the 700 fit & that thing is 30 liters of storage.
They all have a gap underneath for heat dissipation. Mine is also the DOO model YC-124-M model. It's 22.7 liters of storage
They both hold 12.3 liters of gator 3.25 gallons, but the 124 is higher & thicker to hold same amount of gas as 700.
They are also lockable with a key

The KEG is rock solid.
I just like the flexibility of the LINQ.

P.S: The Stainless rivets are a PITA! You'll need to buy a heavy duty rivet gun
