just wondering what the better route to take for helping with stability of my mtx. Wider a arms or upgrading to fox floats. I do roughly 70% trail riding and 30% off trail (and yes I know I bought a mountain sled to ride trails, I like to play in the powder once in a while but my back doesn't like pulling out a short track anymore). I'm looking to make the sled a little more stable on turns and have heard that fox floats can help, plus would give me better front end suspension. Or is it more cost effective to find take off arms and shocks (which model do I look to get wider a arms and decent shocks, and roughly what $$$ am I looking at going that route).[/u]

Cheapest and quickest solution is to space out your skis as wide as you can. Then make sure your toe out is correct as well. I found that 1/8" toe out from close to front of ski to close to the back of ski works awesome. I too am planning on changing a arms, but that will be next year. And according to Yamaha website, both the GT and F-TX have wider stance.
And of course upgrading the shocks is never a bad thing!

Schmidt bros has a sway bar that makes a night and day differance on my wifes mtx. I thought she was gonna make me sell hers cause she didnt like the way it tipped in the turns. Its alittle pricey but was worth it in the long run. Check out their site. They are a sponser on this site.

FX/RTX arms if you want to reuse your stock swaybar....... GT arms work IF you also get the GT swaybar and blocks. I've got GT arms I'm putting on mine this summer. I tried mine with the ski all the way out BUT I didn't like the amount of "slop" and force that the ski put on the spindles with them being offset to the outside like that.

FX/RTX are the same. 42" ski stance. MTX has a 38" ski stance. You'll need longer shocks if you want the same height as the bolt holes are further out on the FX/RTX arms. Each can be set to 40" while the FX?RTX can go to 44" and the MTX can go to 36".
Do either of you know if GYRT front shocks from a 07 FX will fit on an 08 MTX?
