Had my '08 RTX out for a 3 day ride. Due to some rains a week ago the trails were rock hard. I am running a 1.5" intense track. Problem is I burned through two sets of sliders. The second set were pretty much done after about 30km. The snow up until now was great and I had over 800km on a previous set. I am running an extra set of idler wheels as well.
Anybody out there have a good fix for this. I am aware these sleds are hard on sliders but this was too much.

Do a search for Excell idler wheels, they are 5mm larger in diameter. They will put an end to your slider wear. My first year on my Nytro, I had to change them 3 times. After adding larger idlers, I haven't had to change them since, 3 times the mileage on them too.
Im thinking a 1.5" track on trails doesnt help.

Well im runnin the 1.5" intense track and i also live in manitoba and i have 800km on my sliders and our conditions are not the best.Im not runnin yamaha sliders,im just runnin cheaper ones.I run my track tight and they did wear quick at start but after that they slow down.I also have the front wheel kit on rear skid..
Also when i run trails i always jump off every once and while to get some snow in rear skid...
