2014 SR Viper RTX SE
1st of all, I apologize in advance for the long story.

Got home from the giveaway ride in Munising last Sunday, went to unload the sled (viper RTX SE) and it would not start. Cranked for a while then I got the low voltage alarm. I figured the cranking ran down the battery so I charged, started it and put it in my shop. Went riding yesterday and noticed right away that the hand warmers we're not as warm, but I figured it was just the -5 temps. Later in the day on my way home my brother noticed that one of my HID lights went out, that's when I checked the volts on the speedo display. It read 11.1 volts. As I continued home (40 miles away) the volts got lower and lower all the way down to 9.9 volts, I didn't dare shut off the sled. It did not matter what speed/rpm it ran the volts just kept going down. Then I had thottle problems, you would let off the thottle but the rpm would lower but would stick at about 3500 rpm, and you would have to grab the brake to get the motor back to idle rpm, not fun on twisty trails. About 20 miles later I noticed the volts stated coming back up and 1 mile later the volts were at 14.5, it the left light and the throttle thing was still a problem. About 6 miles from home at a road crossing (in case I had to pick the sled up later) I decided to turn the sled off and see if things would "reset". I turned the sled off, waited about 20 seconds, the sled started right up, both HID light worked fine the the throttle issue was gone, hand warmers got hot again, and it ran fine rest rest of the way home.

Weird,

Not sure if I should take it in. Technically right now nothing is broke.

Any ideas or suggestions...

Check your battery connections. I've heard a few people say that there's keep coming loose. Might be a simple fix

About all you can do is go through connections. Dielectric after a light scraping of those you can get at. Make sure the terminals all fit tight and fully engage any lock mechanism.

I think I found my problem. The negative battery terminal was totally corroded. Cleaned every thing up, coated everything with dielectric grease and crossed my fingers.

If you are seeing corrosion get a new battery while it's still under warranty. There is an acid leak. My wife's Rage went 7 years before the battery failed, (no corrosion on the terminals) my Nytro is 4 years old no corrosion on the terminals.

x2 Not sure if batt is under more than 30 day warranty anymore though.
