NCI Ball joint kit. Remove the lower A-Arms to install it. Make sure you use the right shim when assembling to get a nice snug fit, and be careful when cutting the outer race off of the ball joint, so you don't nick the ball with the cut-off well.

I just did mine with the arms still on the sled, Used a Ball joint removal tool and a socket for the top to push the ball joint out, its actually pretty easy to do just take your time only took me about a hour to do it all I borrowed the tool from Part source for free (loan a tool). I used a small bolt and nut that i put through the socket so the tool had something to hold onto so it wouldn't slide off. Don't forget to remove the Cir-clip first. reverse to put the ball joint back in.
Do some reading about the nci kits I hear guys aren't getting anymore mileage out of them than the stock ones. So I opted to go with stock ones for now. I have about 3800k on my sled now and this is the first ball joint change I had to do.
Hopefully this helps. cheers

Sorry, but we have discontinued the NCI ball kits. Before you go cutting into your existing OEM ball joints please check with CrewCheif47 at SledToyz.com to see if he has any sets left in inventory. Otherwise, you should plan on replacing the worn units with another set from Yamaha.

Sorry to here, I was going to post how good they were and with the shims you could tighten them each year.

I have one snowmobiling season and one grass drag season on mine, and they are holding up great. Even with the dust and dirt they see in the summer. If you can still find a set of these, they are well worth the money. Its a shame that they are discontinued. Get ONE person who bad mouths the product, and automatically they are the worst thing to hit the snow. I strongly disagree with that. I am very happy with mine, and the kit is about half the price of a pair of ball joints from Yamaha. Good luck on your search on finding a set. Get them if you find some. Great product in my opinion, and i would definitely buy another set if i had to.

Yes you just need to remove snap ring and tap the old out. Clean and install the new ones. Can the guys from NCI or SledToyz update us on why they is continued these?

Yes why? Mine have worn out (because I bent the spindle, I think) This let the ball joint wear out the top bushing and the ball slipped up. now I need new ones, and I don't like the thought of having to go back to stock!
