Installed 1.6 ice cobra track with Slp Mohawk skis this summer and plan to do some off trail riding this winter. Anyone using their LTX with coupled suspension off trail? What about removing the plastic coupler blocks or installing the racewerx block to get more transfer. I mostly trail ride but want to add to the sleds off trail ability.


Get the rear shock revalved. The LTX especially doesnt transfer well even with blocks out. Valving is huge difference.Gets that front end to pop up or down much easier with throttle or brake. I am experimenting with a heavier front skid spring also. If it works in my RTX it should really help a 137 which feels more front heavy than RTX even stock.

Only thing you will see off trail and launch hard is the sky! Really. Makes sled much much more responsive to what YOU want to do whether turn or wheelie!

For off trail or when the trail is realy soft. I LOVE my racewrex rapidblock
. I use it a lot. Expensive but for what it does to the sled worth the $$$

This 2016 LTX is the HEAVIEST feeling, carbide digginest front end I have EVER HAD. Sure hope I made the right choice. Coming off the XTX type chassis, this 137 has just a stupid amount of front end bite. Cannot imagine in my wildest dream, this front end pushing. Been running multiple ways through my head on how to get this thing to turn better, MEANING EASIER. Seeing as I have not even ridden the thing yet, maybe I should reserve judgment till after its Shake Down cruise. Oh don't you worry. Even stock the 137 doesn't feel as front heavy as a 129 Turbo Cat and you have revalved shocks. Here's my Ltx se in some fresh snow, it does great in deep snow considering the 137" is now an average trail sled. Shocks on mine are revalved, can't even explain how much of a difference it made! I ride with the plastics coupler blocks out and the aluminum rod back in, have for 2 years and it's been great, launches very hard but also plants the skis great in corners.

None at all, there's no added force vs with the blocks in, just gives it a tad more transfer.

Thanks going to give it a try when snow comes hopefully soonNone at all, there's no added force vs with the blocks in, just gives it a tad more transfer.

Do not worry about the LTX off trail. Last year I did as much off trail as on with the 1.25 Ripsaw II and the stock skis. Shocks were re-valved. Just had to pick your battles and not get in over your head. LTX is very capable off trail considering it is a coupled skid trail sled and not a true crossover. This year went to a 1.6 cobra and 7" powder hounds to help keep the front end from nosing into the snow as much. Looking forward to being able to get stuck in places I was hesitant to go last year.

Good to hear, this is going to be my biggest dilemma for the spring, LTX vs XTX. Ive changed my mind at least a 1000 times since last spring.
