I've done searches and never really found a solid answer.
My wife's 2015 ltx se, has curve xs skis with ski protectors and 4"carbides.
The steering is super heavy and hard to turn when going at low speeds.
I ordered the 160 lb cat spring but I don't think that will completely fix it, any other ideas, I'm new to this sled since I have a xtx.

I had curves on my RTX . Liked them but they steered heavy. Too heavy for my wife when she got the sled. Finally put the stock skis back on.I've done searches and never really found a solid answer.

I know that this sled like to push a lot in the corners. It takes a little getting use to the sled and a little tweaking to combat this.
Coming off a lighter 2 stroke sled and onto the viper I noticed this push immediately .
Here's a couple things that may help.
- semi aggressive snow trackers
-pull limiter strap one hole
-get in habit of getting up on top and leaning into the corners with front suspension dialled down a bit so the weight transfers to the skis and hooks up on the snow trackers.
These are just a couple things that helped me out that didn't cost a lot of $$$$... Hope this helps.

Put the tuners back on. I bought curve xs. Put them on. Dude...the steering was so hard it was rediculous.miserable. I put tuner 3':s back on. Fruckin lightest easiest steering again.

Man now I'm disappointed I bought the curves, everyone bragged them so much. I tried it myself and it was hard to steer.
I would not get too discouraged just yet. It seems the winds change often around here on some items and this may be one of them.
You mentioned ski protectors? You mean Bergstrom ski savers? That would add keel to the ski and would seem to add steering effort.
Did you shim the mount rubbers?
It could be a simple matter of adding a bit of preload to the center spring. I don't know that you really need a heavier center spring. Snow trackers mentioned above are intriguing. Pulling up the limiter should make it steer harder.

I agree with TD Max. There are multiple factors that will contribute to the handling/characteristics of the sled. For me, I love my curves. Light steering for me and absolutely rails through the corners with no push. Try limiter straps all the way out, a bit more preload in the center spring. I actually shimmed my curves in the offseason, and that added additional steering effort. I may go back to no shims or maybe go try 1/8" for shims. Only reason I shimmed was I noticed the front-end of the carbide wearing a bit more.

No shims, yes my own homemade bergstrom ski savers.
My first thought was to try and remove the ski savers, I'm going to try that today and check the limiter strap.
I have snow trackers on my xtx cat skis and they're absolutely perfect.

I tried removing the ski savers and it seemed to steer a little easier but still hunted bad in the deep ruts.
My cat skis with snowtrackers I can drive the same trails with one hand.
Is there a part number for the snowtrackers for the curve xs?
Im going to check the toe on the skis tomorow.

Checked the ski toe, and one ski had a toe out of 1/2"and the other ski was straight, so I matched the straight one with the other with a 1/2"off toe out, with the small ride I did it seems good now.

Some say that the Viper pushes like crazy---I cant get mine to push if I tried!! I am also looking for a solution to some heavy steering....

Keep cranking up the skid center shock till it feels light or get a heavier rate spring.

I have the Hygear spring in my center shock already. I really hate to start to add preload as the sled ride stiff enough already.

- 2006 yamaha Apex ulmers clutch kit, air box mod, power commander, reinforced rear susp. pioneer performance tuned shocks
2015 yamaha sr Viper Ltx se, Hurricane 190 turbo kit, ulmers clutching, osp adjuster with 8dn, axys rear and center shock, slp mohawk skis
same problem here with my ltx se and mohawk skis. It steers great absolutely no push but super heavy... So you guys are saying toe them out equally what about half an inch and start adding preload to my axis center shock spring?

I am not. I run 1/16 toe out. Crank the center skid spring up. Trust me it will ride better.same problem here with my ltx se and mohawk skis. It steers great absolutely no push but super heavy...
