Here is a video of mine launching you can see the back squat and the skis come up. If you are riding off trail it is easier to get the nose in the air on an uncoupled skid.

This video shows how easy it is to lft the nose remember I am at 190 hp with the turbo. When the sled turns around on the way back to te camera it is in about 4' of snow and the skis do not touch the ground. This is with the limiter straps tightened cause it would stand on end in the deep stuff.

Yamadog said:Welllllllll uncoupled means there is no links between the rear pivot of the skid to the front. An uncoupled skid can bottom out either the front or the rear of the skid and never affect the other end. A coupled suspension has about 10 to 30% range of free motion at either end then the end not being driven upwards by the bump couples and travels up to level out the skid.
When you launch a coupled skid stays parallel to the ground and very little transfer happens. The uncoupled, the sled rocks hard to the rear and loads all the weight of the sled on the track and lifts the skis.
Both Tim and I have turbos his is LTX mine XTX when they are launched mine lurches back on its haunches, picks up the skis (almost 3' till I pulled down the limeter strap) and then takes off. His stays planted on the skis and leaves flat. He pulls me for a few feet then mine Loads and catches up and then by mid range will start to pull. (he will say not so we will get some video at equal boost.)
Lol, yes that did happen...excuse time
I was running the 8JP belt that slipped and was only at 8200 rpm. But Steve knows that. Was a pretty bumpy run as well. Not the best spot for a drag race. Now that I'm running a true 5.5-6 pounds of boost and 8600 rpm it's a lot better. And with the 8DN belt there is no slipping. So it will make for a great race. I'm sure I will lose with him running 10 pounds of boost. I will get the hole shot and he should run me down, and with both of us having cameras you guys can see both views. Will be fun! I don't like racing friends or other Yamaha's but this will be some testing. For me not bragging rights!

I thought that would get a response did I forget to tell you I had lost 1 stud prior and my fly was down

Yes you did, you know my tire pressure was down to 10 pounds too, but failed to mention that! You have to start telling people how it really happened!

But in all seriousness Yamadog has ridden my sled when one time during the same day it would only rev to 8200 rpm and top out at 84 mph. Then around three hours later he rode it again and it was 8900 rpm and hauled #*$&@! There was a total difference. That's no lie!
Oh good grief go too bed already you need to drive to sconny to get our sleds in the AM!!!!!
P.S. no tampering with mine on the way home - geeze your sensative had I lost 10 races in a row to you I would not be bothered by it
Sorry just kidding it was more like 6
