Studding a xtx se

I've read where guys have had major issues with lugs tearing with screws. Probably on the Doo site or Arctic Chat. This was with std 1.25 lug tracks and may be different with a tall track.

I have 1400 miles on mine with over half of that running at 220 hp and have had no lug tears. This track is so soft that the paddles lay over long before enough stress is placed on it to tear the paddles.

There are lots of horror stories with the the screw in types coming out and damaging heat exchangers or damaging lugs. Personally I wouldn't touch them, especially for aggressive riding. I'm glad they have worked well for some users.

Well first of all these are so light even if they did come out they would not have enough mass to do any damage. 90% of issues are when the track rips in strips, the studs are still in the track and are continually whipped against the heat exchanger.

Well you can think what you want but that is not the 1.6" track on the XTX and with more HP in a viper than anyone else out there I had no issues with mine. The track is flexible enough and the small threaded screw in points I use would snap the shaft vefore it did that kind of damage to the paddle.

What length screw and size (#8, #10 etc.)?

Woody's also makes a comparable product, albeit probably more expensive. You can get these from your local dealer though.. and perhaps with a discount if you ask for it:

I bought a 1.6" Ice Cobra to get the added benefits of carbide tips in the track.. although I know that's not an affordable option for everyone.

Good luck!

You will love that track WOT Yamahatims was great on trail and even better off - I think the harder durometer rubber than the stock XTX 1.6" track gets better bite.

When adding the 1.6" ice cobra track do you have to add anything else or is it just a simple track swap? Do you have to add extrovert drivers or do the ltx se come with them already?

Just a simple track swap.. ED's are already there, regardless of model designation.. I don't have an SE, just the base model with the butt warmer.

I picked up the 1" #10 and they worked great as far as install goes. I can't see them pulling out ever, they go in a full inch but don't touch any of the internals. The paddle still bends right over without issue after the screw is installed. I could see breaking the head off maybe, but not pulling one out.

For now I am going kind of light figuring I can add as many as I want after I see how they hook up.
