Hi All
After contemplating stud patterns I wanted to post the finished product and some of the installation tips I can pass along.
I installed 1.325” Woodys Gold Diggers, with the standard round aluminum washers. 3 studs per bar x 48 = 144 Studs. ( Track paddle is 1.25”).
When I first got the Woodys stud pattern from Royal, I did not realize these tracks have quiet pads. Before drilling I noticed the stud would not sit flush so I stopped and investigated. Since I had cut the pattern, I returned to Royal and marked the spots on my template for the quiet pad pattern (which the rep at Royal didn’t mention was available by the way when I first went in). The outer studs hit the quiet pads right in the middle. Center studs are torqued to 15ftlbs, and outer studs to 18ft lbs to sink them into the quiet pads.
Installing the Yamaha tunnel protectors was pretty straight forward for the outer protectors. Then I put the adhesive on the middle one and the extrusion would not fit properly. (Also I Recommend pre drilling the screw before installation as others have mentioned). After a lot of struggling and a bit of cursing the epoxy started to cure and it was a mess ( you only have 10 mins). I then resorted to the forum and came to find that a lot of guys aren’t using the middle protector anyways. So I had to satisfy my curiousity and put some math behind it. You’ll see a couple of pictures attached which Show 0.368” of clearance before the stud would hit, and the full width of the rail measurement at 0.742”.
With the quiet pad stud pattern, the center studs also get very close to the width of the center protector ( pic enclosed) , which is another reason why I decided to leave it off.
I think I’m happy with this stud pattern and having only the outer tunnel protectors but only 5,000 kms will be the judge.
Cheers

Nice! I just did the same thing on my 129" with Woody's 1.575" studs. I asked Royal for that Quiet Pad template specifically (the guy helping me knew nothing about anything unfortunately, thankfully I went prepared)
Good to know about 18 ft lbs on the outside studs I must have missed that, will have to tighten mine up.
My center tunnel protector was already glued in place when I read that it might be best to leave it off.... I guess we will see.
Would be interesting to see the traction difference between the 1.325 and 1.575.

I saw the 18ft lb advice on this forum somewhere and others just saying to give them some more torque. It makes sense to me so I went with the higher torque.
