marshmellow seat

I weigh 235, and it sinks down about 3/4 inch, I thought it feels perfect! Every time my wife looks for me, I am sitting on my Blue Attak.

I called BBY and told him exact measurements, and positioning. The Attak, if needed, will ride double with no problems. (You know, if the poos, doos, and cats break down)

The seat sinks down about 3/4 inch.
In normal riding position, my knees are about an inch above my butt for levelness.
I have 13 inches behind my butt before the rear flap for the storage compartment.
Knees are straight up from my ankle.
The gauges are at perfect view just above the handlebars and pad.

I like a stiffer seat, and they are a lot stiffer than the protos we rode.

OT - I put my hand gaurds on yesterday, and the blue ones look "KICK-GASSS"!!!

My friends and I have place in Old Forge we've been going to for years. I love it there. It does get a bit crowded on the weekends so we've gotten into the habit of using forge as our home base and doing long trips to surrounding areas. What I like about forge is if snow conditions are too bad to do a long trip you can still have fun in forge.

For a guy who's 6'-6" 240, one of things that I didn't like about my '02 XC 700 was how low I felt when I sat on it. It's a good thing I had an EDGE. Same thing with my '04 RX-1, but only a harder seat. The '06 seat is a much need improvement.

Now, if my wife understood my need for a taller seat, then I'd have a custom Boss sitting on my RX-1 instead of cheap JoAnn fabric, foam stuffed underneith.

the Boss seat is $518. I was hoping someone I know is a dealer so I can get it a little cheaper.

hope4snow, I'm 6'6 250 with 36 in seam. I rode the prototypes. I hammered em through the moguls. The only time I bottomed was when I turned the RA too light. We may be able to get by with moving the clip to the middle position on the mono. I am not sure if that is going to change the ergo's that much??? Dont be scared about the seat after 7,500 miles on my 03, a soft seat is a welcome site for this sore #*$&@ ;)!

I just went and sat on the Attack and it is just as firm as the REV's. It felt great. Truthfully anyone that is 300lbs is going to have a hard time finding the perfect seat.

This can be a surley crowd in the summertime :moon: so dont take it personal :D

Just making sure you aren't using any of them high dollar, fancy words to make fun of folks.

sur·ly
adj. sur·li·er, sur·li·est
1. Sullenly ill-humored; gruff.
2. Threatening, as of weather conditions; ominous: surly clouds filled the sky.
3. Obsolete Arrogant; domineering.

Good word ;)!

I was at Nelson's Snow Show and sat on the new models and the seat is very soft. I felt that it was one of the best seats I have ever sat on. Ride the sled first then decide if you need a seat change. You have to remember, theses sleds just like cars, trucks, Atvs are built for the average person and in most cases are great. For those that are not happy with the ergonomics, that is where the aftermarket caters to. Not for everyone. Alot of times people purchase after market and discover what they had originally was better. Just my thoughts. :o| :4STroke:

Oak Hill. The sleds over by the demo rides at Nelsons's were the proto's from last spring. The only new model I found that you could sit on was the Attak over by the elevated Apex-er, and the Attak seat felt firmer to me. There were Vector's you could sit on as well.

Last year I was 285-290 & did not have any problems bottoming out with the stock spring when I got the mono set up!
I had the rear set at the 7 spot if I remember right! The 4 spot is the standard position, again if I remember right!
This was on a 121 RX-1 ER too, so the 136 on the Attak should be even better this year!!!

Brother Steven (or is that with a ph as in phneumonia instead of a v?)
thanks for gracing the congregation with your sense of humor LOL
Good word yes, but it is obvious that I sir am a sinner. I misspelled Surly with an L E Y as in Hurley WI. Poontang I swear will lead to my eternal damnation  God save my soul. Amen
May the Lord bless us with surly weather this winter LaLaLa

I also sat on the Attak and Demo Apex GT in the New/Used sled display area at Nelson's. The GT's seat was extremely soft while the Attak's seat was perfectly firm in my opinion. Great change by Yamaha in the firmness of the production seats versus the Prototypes.

Did anyone sit on the Crossfire. Talk about a hard seat. You could damage your boys on that seat with an unexpected hole/bump while sitting.
OUCH!

Sinjin - Yes, there is a clearance problem with the Attak windshield. I am planning on a chrome clamshell from another user. I will get a pic tomoorow night.
