Mary Lake Radaring,Huntsville Ontario-Bring those APEXS!

Hey guys....

well this entire season(since late jan) we have had COLD temps and alot of snowpack builtup on our local lakes....typically there was about 1 or 2 ft. of snow on my lake here,so we never were able to get our track plowed off,due to heavy slush underneath the deep snowpack.

Well,it was close to 60F degrees here in central Ontario(muskoka) tuesday and wednesday....our amazing trails have withered away to limited status and the lakes slushed over.

Last night it cooled off and now is gonna stay well below freezing at night and about freezing for Highs during day for next 3-5 days.....The slushed lake has refroze for a NEAR GLARE ICE finish,time to get out the gun finally!

I posted this to see how many people would be interested In heading to Muskoka(Port Sydney)to radar this coming sunday...I will be in the midst of installing NOS on my sled saturday so I wont be able to do any radaring till sunday....Anyone whos up for it please let me know!....

Port Sydney Rd is located about 10 minutes south of Huntsville,and approx 1.75 hrs north of Toronto.....Very easy to get to,Off HWY 11....Exit at Port Sydney rd(141)....go down to lake(approx 1.5miles) to the town dock,and unload there...We should be able to ORIENT our track anyway we like according to wind direction,as the lake is all ice.

hey john...

well,they are rating our trails as "limited",but we really took a beating from what i see from roads...I think in the bush they are probably ok....

Im hoping to get everyone over for sunday here,but i bet the trail from south portage over isnt too bad,south portage rd and lynx lake rd will be bare for sure though...

lakes are all ice now...slush froze over and should be fast for us!...just be careful if youre not running studs!..

BTW,are you feeling better?..still sore?...i want to get over and see your sled....Ill probably be packing it up next week and heading back to city..YUK!...next thursday calling for more double digit temps,so this will be last weekend for radar .

I heard from Daryl and Ed today....they will be out this weekend also on Mary Lake radaring....they are the guys who usually keep our track plowed off all winter....

we have all been itching to get out the radar guns all winter,but the snow/deep slush conditions were bad all winter...so this sunday will be the day for sure!

I am hoping this is going to be my last weekend on a Apex, so I will try and make it up. The St.Patty's day piss up may keep me away but we shall see. Anyway will be good to see evryone and for those that know how to get to my pace you can park there and ride down the lake. tuning beside the lake dan? hope your up for a 23 install, LOL.

Hey John,

port sydney is simple...you go right by it on your way up here..LOL....

exit at port sydney rd(141hwy),go 2 minutes down road(east) and you hit the lake,town dock is right there on road...unload and we will be right out there...if anyone has any CONES(contruction orange) bring them!...if lakes is same on sunday and alot of guys show up it would be safer to have some cones for track.

I think we will just orient the track to go with the wind,cause it might be breezy from North on sunday as forecast.

Also,they are now calling for a few cms of snow saturday,so sunday might have some light amt of snowcover on lake,which will be welcomed for sliders and cooling.

Hope to see all of you guys there...I wish i had some DPYR66s!....im sure Ill be hitting rev limiter all day with NOS!.LOL

I love them!! I think matt is geting one!

I have studs and last fri my skis were lifting at 100mph I fixed my pipe issue,

OH YA! and than 4hours later...... write off!!!

New VANAMBURG tunnel is on its way, The sled will be a wild build this summer!!

cant wait!! we have 5 summer builds coming up!!

Yep, did a bit of photoshop on the Nitro. Geting some ideas in me. I’ll wait till I see or try one before deciding to get one. Not very happy with the small fuel tank though. Can you customize 38 liters into the 28 liter?lol

hey guys..

Just wanted to tell everyone,the lake is very rough,daryl and Ed were out today and tomorrow is not gonna be a go....

My NOS kit came a few peices short,so I wont be intalling it till mid week if i get parts....so mary lake radars are OFF for sunday...

we most likely will do this next weekend,it will be mild this week and lake should get smoother,but not sure if it will get cold again next weekend yet..

some of the guys here might radar over on VERNON lake,about 15 minutes from me...so PM me if you want to go there and Ill give directions over there...I might go over there stock...but 120 is boring now!...i want MY NOS!

i wondered where everybody was on sunday.lol i quess i,m going to have to get dail up at the cottage! the lakes were real rough . i was on the lake of bays saturday afternoon and everytime you tried to get up to speed you hit a rut.

Im sorry about that..I tried to post as soon as I knew we werent going to be there...we did go over to lake vernon in Hunstville with some of the guys...still rough and these conditions were super hard on track/idlers/studs/sliders....at end of the day we had one track fly off a polaris while I was holding gun at 105mph....also another sled throwing studs out of new track all over the lake,and others with idlers blown all apart with only 10 miles on wheels....

Im actually really glad I didnt have my sled out there after seeing all the torn up tracks and wheels!..

possibly next week,we will get some decent cool mornings...we are calling for rain this week...mild too..rain will help to smooth over lake but will need cold after,which not sure will happen..

Ill post if we are all going to run next week.

THANKS FOR THE CALL!!! we had the big truck out there and 8 other guys !! It was dead!!! what a waste of time!!!
