I'm considering trying max spool 20 next year. If so I'll upgrade to the bigger fuel pump and regulator. Will I see 20 lbs boost with the stock manifold? Do I need the wastegate locker? I've heard of guys shimming the wastegate to run 22-23 lbs.
Anyone who has run Max 20 and could provide info I'd appreciate it.
I've searched and I'm not really finding the info I'm looking for.
Thanks

max20 stock manifold will make 20psi boost , get the fuel pump and fuel pressure reg , get the a/f also , set fuel reg to 45 psi simply and easy , 94 fuel .
max 20 with header will make 18-19 psi boost , fuel pump and fuel reg , set fuel reg to 48 psi . im now setting up to the new upgraded waste gate from td plus closed loop and boost timer , I think this is the best way of full control of what boost u want to run at your finger tips with the correct fuel to be safe .

Did you find going to max 20 (stock manifold) a big jump from MS17?

the biggest thing is the header I added from td , the midrange to top end pull very noticeable compared to stock manifold

Did you have to add clutch weight after adding the header? Reason I'm asking is a friend said he didn't have to add any weight.the biggest thing is the header I added from td , the midrange to top end pull very noticeable compared to stock manifold

when I added the header I also added a new Tapp at the same time , which is the best and easiest clutch to tuneDid you have to add clutch weight after adding the header? Reason I'm asking is a friend said he didn't have to add any weight.

Yes you will see 20lbs. If your just staying with a single tune 20 may be on the high side for trail riding lake running all day? guys do but Need good gas, depends your riding style. There’s not much point shimming waste gate for a 20lb tune as the tune will still target 20lbs. Now you could lock the waist gate to 22 if you set the locker carefully and had correct gas but at some point (maybe 23 or so?) the 20lb tune would see this condition as overboost and take action.

Hey dmc the updated waste gate gives u alot of tuneability on ur phone but u can only do so much before u need to add race fuel or upgrade internals I have ran max 20 in my sled 2 years and have ran 134 mph on Whitson in 1320ft I loved max 20 ur limited to about 22lbs on good quality pump gas and maybee some torco additive

It works realy good keeps boost solid. Guys with headers would benefit most as you can run over 18lbs now. Ran a 128.8 1320' last sunday at +10deg C on soft ice so not to bad.Have you ran the upgraded waste gate yet? I'm curious on what your thoughts are on it.
