Hey Guys,
I picked up a pair of the Yamaha airprene fox shock covers for my front fox float x shocks, before i installed them on the front i tried to put one on the mega float and it went on like a glove (perfect fit)..
I rode all weekend long and it seemed to be fine under there, it has some thickness to it since it is neoprene for protection..
I can't see how it can't work to a certain degree of protection..
Didn't have a camera with me to take a pic to show you guys..
I'll keep you guys posted if it works or not

Those airprene covers are the bomb, that's what I run on my front float 2's on the Attak for protection. Cool they fit on the Mega. The airprene covers are pricey, but guys outta try the airprene out to protect their investment in that Megafloat.

Might be a good idea to put that protection on the Megafloat in the rear. Another TY member damaged his rear shock, rendering it useless (probably a rock or chunk of ice kicked up in the skid and hit shock body). Yamaha told him to go pound sand (last I heard) with warranty and it wasnt covered on his 2011 Apex SE.
Good find and post. Thanks for sharing Fabio!

Well I don't think it was ice mostlikely a rock,
I'm not taking sides but if someone spit up a rock and it went through my hood I can't expect Yamaha to replace it, that would be ware and tear..IMO
They should make a cover like the airprene just for the mega and add a little more thickness to it just for that extra protection..
Up here they are selling a lot of mega floats for a reason, the best shock for the mono to date.. Hands down..

I posted about installing a shock cover over the mega float about 3months back.
I got a lot of negative input. everyone has an opinion. I never did put one on because i couldn't find anything at the time.
i still like the idea of a shock cover.
please keep us posted on how it works out.

Hey RTX,
Can you please share what was said,
The fox float shocks and the mega float are the same size tube and they work the same so why would it be a bad idea to put a cover on..
I only trail ride, and just by road crossing i couldn't believe how much sand and pebbles get in the track area, and they just stay in there and bounce around and nick everything, that's how the rear suspension rusts if not taken care of..
I will keep you guy's posted..

All the responses said dirt would get suck in the cover a and destroy the shock. I disagree. It is designed to keep that crap out. Opinions, everyone has an opinion but no facts to back it up. I contacted fox direct. They were no real help either. I will eventually put a cover on mine. Please let us know how it works out for you.
