Guys. Has anyone put a different shock in place of the fox mega float on an se? I've even done the Hygear upgrade on it (which helped a heck of a lot). I still bottom out on big bumps. And if I put more pressure in to combat that it just makes the ride horrible. My 06 ohlins w the Hygear mod is way better shock over all!!! And everytime I get back on my 06 I realize it!! Looking to replace the mega float w something else. Anyone done it?? Or other suggestions.

X2

I have read that the std Apex rides better in general. Perhaps installing the spring/shock for the std is the ticket? I have not tried it, but would also like to explore options.

I did the Hygear on mega and dual on fronts. Those front fox can be pounded to hell and back and always feels like butter!! I love them. Rear- not so. :(

I've been looking. Gonna call them tomorrow. I can't ride this sled w reserve always thinking" uh oh big bumps ahead. Better be careful". That's crazy. My sled needs to be able to handle anything in front of it and ask for more. Hate to say it. But my 06 still begs for more!!!! It sits in the garage and looks at me like a little puppy begging to go out and play!! And it did last weekend. The se fuel pump relay froze so didn't start. The 06 fired right up w 9k on her and we went out and played!!

I think I will call too...

While we're on the subject. What have u found as good pressures on ur fronts. Hi n lo

I installed the electric shock in mine without the wire and it works way better then the mega float - I never noticed a huge difference when I adjusted it on my 06 anyways

I think I'm around 135/85 but my sled is at the lake house and I will not get to check it till Saturday.

My (sold it) Attak GT with Hygear's dual rate and valving was much better than the Mega. I didn't like how frequent the Ohlins needed refreshing though... about every 1000 miles.

I called Hygear on Monday and found out it would take 4 weeks, or so, to get a Custom Axis.

Bruce at Pioneer suggested installing the shock used in the Vector. It has Compression adjustments and is valved pretty good right out of the box. He would add the spring for my weight and ship it out within a week. I might go that route.

rebuilding or changing the oil in your OHLINS every 1000 miles? that is crazy. never heard that before. you must do some freakn riding to have to rebuild those premium shocks that often. i can see snowcrossers doing that. i have over 5000KM on my ohlins on my SRX and they still work great. i just redid the rear KYB's (which were out of a viper) on it and they had well over 13000KM before they finally give out last year. now they might need the oil changed but do i really need too, maybe but every 1000miles?? :o| no offense to you and this is just my opinon but i think some guys just refresh them just to have somethng to do. wow can you imagine changing your shocks on your car or truck that often. i realize we might hit more bumps on a sled but wow.

again I'm not bashing.
